As a government official, because, he wields significant power to influence the people, these incitement to genocide surely are not making the overall situation better ! I don't think it is justified, but, if he continues after this warning, continue with the same kind of comments about wiping out all Palestinians, comment reminiscent of those made by nazi officials against Jews, then that is a different thing. Anyone else making the same type of comment from another country during a war campaign that has had some questionable acts by both waring parties, would have been condemned and sanctioned a long time ago. Rules and laws apply to all of us, not jus some. Impunity only punished the society that is enjoying the impunity in the long term, people have long memories and revenge is something that only dies after it has been done. Since the start of the war, Israel has had many officials say comments that are dangerous and have the potential to cause violence in and of themselves. When you hate, you get hate in return. One would think that with all the pain and misery Israelis have lived thru as a result of having to live beside a people whom they displaced dispossessed and made homeless in order to create a state of their own, forced these people to huddle into refugee camps in both Palestinian territories only to be further occupied in both, because of the historical injustice of the Nakba and the unresolved Palestinian question causing them to be in this for ever pursuit of liberation and vengeance for what the general feeling seems to be how still to this day the quality of life of Palestinian on one side vs that of Israeli Arabs and Jews, one would think that this kind of heavy rhetoric and calls to genocide would be the last thing on Israeli government officials mind and that peace reconciliation amongst all who live in Israel and Judea and Samaria ( West Bank ) Gaza would be top priority but alas such is not the world we live in.
