Phumelele spent her marriage making a life for Sengwayo and his children effectively putting herself last. Phumelele's children are all grown up now. She is probably now looking at her life thinking if she were to wake up tomorrow and not have her kids or husband who would she be as an individual. Would she wake up and feel like she is nothing without Sengwayo or those children? For so long she has been known as just one of Sengwayo's wives and the mother of his children. Also Phumelele is committed to Sengwayo while his commitment is divided between 3 different women.
