OP asks a trick question, and even HE can't get it right! You've already mowed 1/8 of the lawn - past tense. There are 7/8 of the lawn left. Now, read carefully..."How much longer to finish the entire lawn?" which is future tense. Assuming that each 1/8 of the lawn takes five minutes, then 7/8 (that is, finishing the job) will take 7 x 5 = 35 minutes.

You’re right as John often says read the problem 3 times. The question was how long will it take to finish mowing the lawn. You rightly pointed that 1/8 was already done in 5 minutes so the total mowing time is 40 minutes and the resting time 35, not 40😊
