Touching on the comment from the former game industry employee about changing game mechanics; the way XFs and PUIs work this year represents a seismic shift in how we build and upgrade our teams. On an island, that is fine as 25 is a new iteration of the game, but the fact that it’s Jan 13 and the Lidstrom I built on Oct 20 still has the same max overall as a msp from the first week of Oct is OUTRAGEOUS, especially considering the cost and reward structure at the time. Even if he gets a +3 or 4 over the next week or two that is ridiculous. Getting regular incremental upgrades was much better than overalls going up by chunks every few months (presumably because many of the icons haven’t even been upgraded yet).

In regards to what you said about earning xp in game w event players. Couldn't they use the hut rush point mechanic? For example: 5 xp for a pass in squad battles, 10 in rivals. I can't remember how much every move was worth in hut rush.

EA needs to add online CoOp like in MLB the show. It would be a blast to have you and a buddy pick 3 forwards and 2 D and hop into a 2v2 online. Would add something new to the game. When I was in college I got my roommate into hockey by playing a franchise mode with him and just playing against the computer. Now he has the game and is constantly looking for a way for us to play on the same team together aside from EASHL

LINEUP DECISION Team’s stacked and I’ve got what I need for TOTY. I dont know what to do with all my low overall players : 347 cards between 76 and 79. I also have 6 base icons for each set (modern/vintage), already have Niedermayer and X Factor McDavid is done. I really really hope they allow some sort of BND trade in. I’m up to like 57 BND cards now. Like not even buying them. All from rewards. It’s incredibly frustrating to do all these objectives to get a card you can’t do anything with. Especially when they have these sets asking for 82-86 cards. I’m absolutely loaded on 83-85 bnd cards

Bonjour Sleeves! Just wanted to thank you for your insight into the HUT 2000 Selanne card. Even though Pronger is one of my favorite players, I already decided I was skipping this event’s MSPs after participating in literally every event prior, making atleast 2 from each event. I decided to shoot my shot on the 88 BND pack and landed Selanne. He is insanely good. Great skating and a sick shot. Feels snappy and is already turning into PPG after playing 10 games with him. Keep up the great work!

i think that would be smart bro, cards right now are super cheap 85 or lower. during gallery of greats i sold all my 86s and 87s which was basically everything i have been saving and buying. they where over 50k each so i thought it was smart to sell, i then bought 85s super cheap. only makes sense to me that the 4 85s would be worth more than 1 86 when it comes to team of the year.

Yo Sleeves, great videos for nhl 25. Since I became a offline player this year and the rewards are different, I became less stressed for this FOMO game. Especially with the 1 card for 10 wins. Maybe they should have a choice pack for HUT Champs, for example a player from each position. Having them all pretty equal, will hopefully diversify teams.

I got 120 XP collects last season. That’s 4 elite packs for 7 weeks. Past few years, we could get 2 elite packs per week. They need to boost the XP rewards.

What if they used the Rivals multiplier for goals and assists towards progression when events require you to score goals, assists etc. So being in Div. 1 and if you scored 1 goal with say a 2000 player you give 2.4x progression towards the objective for scoring goals with a 2000 player??? Tech probably not there but I think that would help people not just have to jump in SB to get chores done.

Yo Sleeves I just came back to HUT this year after about a 2-3 year break. I’ve mostly played fifa ultimate team but wanted a break because it’s an even bigger money grab than HUT. I am a pretty good player in HUT and will probably be in division 2 soon although I am not as good as I used to be. But I was a little late to the game this year and I missed the fantasy event and I really wish I could get trocheck, I think it would be cool if there was a fantasy set that maybe cost like 3 87s and gave you a random fantasy NHL card. This could give you a random shot at parayko or one of the low rated ones even but they do sbcs(sets) in fifa or FC25 where you can get players from certain past events. I think that would be a cool feature in HUT

Would be pretty cool if they had player xp as well like mlb the show has. Say you have the 89 brett hull and you want to keep him all year long. The more you play with him the better he gets overall. But like mlb dont let his overall go past a plus 5. So 200 goals with brett hull he goes from an 89 too a 94 and goals in between to gradually upgrade.

Honest question from someone that doesn’t play HUT that much and got into HUT last year when the game was released on gamepass and got NHL 25 last month. Why did the content team make the change from using collection tokens to craft MSP and now you have to craft MSP with overall based cards and event cards. I fell like having the player being able to craft MSP with tokens gave everyone the opportunity to craft a MSP and this year it just feels like you’re chasing a carrot with the MSP especially since I play HUT mainly offline

Don't overspend on team of the year, I remember last year cards dropped out of teams pretty quick because they never got upgraded, and it seems like they upgrade even less this year. Some of the hologram icons haven't even been updated once yet.

Instead of a Pressure meter they should put in a TILT meter, so we can gauge if we should just quit or what might reduce it or enhance the amount of TILT in game. Playing a 20 minute game, throwing 25+ shots at them against Top 10 saves in NHL history, then to lose that game on 5-7 shots against and a couple muffin goals. Having to win 30 Rivals against this TILT algorithm is not easy!

Hey Sleeves, love the vids as a first year HUT player. Chose Ekblad as my first S3 XP player, picked up Zubov and Letang to fill a previously very weak right handed winger group. When looking at Ekblad’s stats at each upgrade, is it crazy that I’d still consider keeping cover athlete Makar as 3rd liner over full upgraded Ekblad? Thanks a lot

Totally random question for anyone who may have insight plz help me out: ⬇️ Hypothetically if I were to complete a couple of the 83x4 sets and hold onto the packs in my unopened pack tab until team of the years come out, do the potential cards contain within the pack update based on when I open them or when I obtain them? I know FIFA with the FIFA games I’ve seen a lot of streamers and some of my friends save packs until team of the year which they have obtained weeks if not months prior for more shots at the cards… But I guess my question is does NHL follow this similar format or are the things within a pack based on when you obtain the pack and not when you open it?

Hey sleeves at 7:40 in the video where you just touched on XP sets and how you could use them for TOTY. What I’m doing and curious if you think it makes sense it to just wait until the event comes out to do those sets since they will be here for the whole TOTY event. I’ve also been saving any pack that is a 80+ style pack until TOTY comes out for the reason you said. The 2000’s event is a dud due to the timing of it. Hey sleeves, to the question everyone is asking, about the xp 3 path I fine the 83+ for 10 collectibles is definitely the best path to go I've open two so far and have been getting 84,86 and 87 cards that can be save or put into the auction house for coins which with some cards I've done, others I'm keeping towards TOTY ,ether way for the people here grav as many of these packs as you can get.

The xp path isnt any different than previous years. The only difference is far less good packs, and a lot more xp to play catch-up if you fall behind. Previous year's, you're out a week of rewards if you take a week off. Now, you're a weel behind and have to make that time up if you want the actual decant end of the path rewards.

Years ago this game had a lot of players. After taking years off and playing madden I couldn’t believe how small hut is. I’ve noticed the game is arcade and glitches. It’s like they went backwards with everything in this mode. I could care less for team of the year cause like you stated in another video this game has a 6 month life for most people. I really liked the WJ fantasy event. It made it so much fun. They should have did this for the JR players and EU leagues ongoing through out the year to open up variety of teams.

7:12 Hey Sleeves, the way that we have been making MSPs so far is EAs quick fix and forget to stop allowing low rated MSPs in WC, that were then upgraded to navigate around the salary cap in WC. Since they were “aware” of that issue, we haven’t had an upgradable MSP since. It just shows how under prepared they actually were for this year and how much effort they don’t want to put into fixing it all. BNDs, auto fills and multi selects, MSPs, etc etc etc. just tape over it and move on! So I think for TOTY - it should follow the same process as FH collectibles did, but hey, who knows, maybe it’ll be BLAH BLAH BLAH! 😏

I'm reading the objectives now and it says ###SDB_OBJ_HEADER_TEST_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH###. This really makes me feel like this game is really a rush job . I really believe like EA doesn't care about this game at all . I've been playing forever and I've never noticed so many mistakes in what is released. Tbh having the RD play the LD side ect, when you do that the fact there stick is on the wrong side they miss keeping a lot of pucks in the offensive zone or getting there body into position on pucks being cleared out. I’d just put pronger at his natural position with and O based D guy that you tend to give one 1 Ts too.

Team of the Year in chel is a good idea but flawed in its execution. I’d prefer seeing a more grindable sets based system to get totys like fifa has. You mentioned using different overalls for collectibles but I’d like to see a pack like 4X83 for an 88 or 89 or even a 15 75+ pack. Look at fifas upgrade sbcs and exchanges to see how this works

Div 5 player chiming in here. Lol. Why so much criticism on the gallery of greats event. I thought it was great. Getting an 89 card that will stay in my lineup longer is a huge perk. I get rewarding higher ranked players but I have to log about twice as much time playing the game to get Hedman and now Larkin as a div 1 or 2 player. Realistically I'm not making div 2. So I think it's fine to have an event that in the long run helps out a lower ranked player. Nhl is a game of attrition. I basically make an msp each event. For 18 skaters on the ice that would take 36 weeks to fill. Having a card that stays on my team longer due to the free ability is a huge plus, especially when I don't really have much interest this year on a TB or icon. I'm more focused on McDavid as I end up with 3 usable card for the season. Same as toty. Grabbing hopefully 2 players that are relevant for the season is pretty meaningful for those in the lower tiers.

For all the charged McDavid owners, are they robbed as far as TOTY? I started at Christmas and because charged Mcdavid cost 5 mil coins to make, yet TOTY cards typically cost 1.5ish mil, no point in trying for charged Mcdavid. Im waiting. However, for the people that do have him or are part of the way there, it might be a total waste. They are going to have to do a 1 for 1 trade for TOTY Mcdavid for charged Mcdavid because of the cost differential or.....are TOTYs going to cost 5 mil in coins? I would be so pissed if i had charged Mcdavid and still had to make collectibles to make an auto upgrade version of a card that cost a fraction of the cost to make from scratch. Thoughts? Sleeves hope all is well. As a DIV 1 player, averaging 16 hc wins and consistent rivals wins, this xp path is just so underwhelming, the boost to xp actually hurts… after the first week I’m half way through the xp path, I’ll probly finish next week. Then after that every game I play I get nothing out of. Just doesn’t feel like they reward top players enough…. Thanks for all you do live the content!
