Or, if you’re insanely late game but can’t catch that one annoying fish, use deluxe bait with 2 cork bobbers on an advanced iridium rod that’s enchanted with master. Oh and don’t forget a buffed sea foam pudding. That’ll make your bar MASSIVE.

I caught an iridium Glacierfish Jr using the quality bobber + every level buff except the seasoning. I didn't have time during the quest to get the Legend II or Son of Crimsonfish in iridum (Ms. Angler was easy) but I'll try the next time the quest comes up, and I'm not catching the originals on this save without the quality bobber.

@@masterpi314 oh, that is cool! I only found out yesterday Haboo (winner of recent sdv tourmanent) once caught every single fish in iridium, including legends in 1.4 version. Without quality bobber. He said glacier fish took him about 10h and ~1500 attempts. So this is possible. But I'm never doing that. I'll try with quality bobber though, it's an amazing idea!

I actually took some time to test how the first ever cast/ training fishing thing works. So (at least for console, i haven’t tested on my computer yet) yeah. If you don’t hook the fish you want on your first try you can cancel out the cast by pressing the back button. When you do this you don’t catch the fish so the game thinks you still don’t know how to fish and the next fish you hook will have the same training thingy where you can’t lose the fish. If that is not the fish you want again then you can cancel it out again and until you get the fish you want (you can tell if it has the little hat on, or if it is roughly the same speed as a hard to catch fish).

The first time I realized how OP it was when on the first rainy day and i got a catfish on my first cast and was able to catch it for the first time ever. I would then do this for my next few play throughs. One time I was on a new save and the first fish i hooked wasn’t a catfish so I thought, “hmm I wonder if I cancel out the mini game/ pull my rod out of the water without having lost or gotten the fish the next time I get a fish I would get the same training thing because I never successfully caught the fish and therefore didn’t know how to fish.

I tend to use the quality bobber when going for the legendary angler fish, so I can get it gold star like the others, and not silver because its not in deep water. With such a big bar, you could possibly catch the others with an iridium star if you used the quality bobber.

its painful to get the octopus on his normal spawn season (summer) because you have much more to do, i always wait the night market on winter so i can try in the submarine, because if i just tilt and stop reseting the day to catch it, it can still be much more profitable because squids and the blobfish are much more profitable than normal ocean fish u get on summer mornings

I've always had the most trouble with the Legend because it takes so much effort just to hook him and without an enchanted rod and seafoam pudding it's about a 40% chance to catch (I think). I usually catch him spring year 2 and I haven't been able to get the community center + boat done by then yet and I usually end up using a different food because seafoam pudding is hard to get ahold of. Bear in mind, I've only finished the community center twice to begin with, but still. That's a tough challenge regardless.

You need to do the community center vault for the bus, it costs 1000 gold then 5k then 10k 15k 25k I think on top of my head. But you can purchase them all in one day if you got the money then next day pam will stand in front of the bus :)

The bus can be obtained either from the Community center or from Joja, depending on your playthrough. Overall, completing either the Community center or all the Joja upgrades will open a lot of additional content in the game. It can eventually seem like a lot of money-making, especially later in the game as you try to obtain some really expensive items. Personally, I did one "complete" playthrough where I achieved "full perfection" (the game will explain what that is at a late stage), but overall my typical playthrough lasts between 1-3 years. The good thing is the game has a lot of content - relationship stuff, quite a bit of secrets/little puzzles (don't underestimate those and don't neglect those NPCs), you can go wild with decorating etc. etc. The next step is trying out different farms, which allows you to explore different playing styles (personally, I'm not a huge fan of the Standard farm - it has the most farming space, yes, but it seems a bit boring). As an experienced player, you can cut the profit margin and "making money" suddenly gets a lot more challenging, especially the first couple seasons. There's a lot of other stuff too, but those should give you some inspiration.

i learned how the glacierfish fights and ended up with a "not exaggerated" just shy of 10 minute fight against it. the legend i broke down and used food buffs because the glacierfish fight took the fight out of me by the time i wore it down, so to me the glacier fish is my worst enemy, even if you can accurately predict its movement you still end up losing progress a lot and can end up almost failing, or failing, so very fast.

The cork bobber never worked for me because I still couldn't keep up with the damn fish. It's only when I switched to the trap bobber that I was able to catch all the legendary fish. I'm not sure the extra boost Qi Seasoning provides would have helped. I may try it next time.

Buy from the travelling merchant, explore the trash cans, get some in mail from certain NPCs after you raise up your friendship, some "fish" (mussel, cackle etc.) can be foraged on the beach, some fish can be bought from Krobus once you unlock the sewers, a couple fish (from my memory, the Ghostfish and the crab) are drops from monsters in the mine. It doesn't work for every fish (or at least, you'd need a *really* long playthrough), but you can get quite a bit of fish this way and build your fishing level up with the fish ponds (though these also cost 5 seaweed and 5 algae each - both obtainable from non-fishing sources but it takes time). Once you get some crab pots, those can also get you some "fish" without needing to cast.

To those watching this video i got a tip from Concerned Ape about fishing , farming , foraging , mining , combat . If you eat any food that gives buff like dish o' the sea it last long as 5min but if you quickly save backup and quit to title and play the same acc again the buff icon gone , but your stat isnt so when you try catching any legend try doing this trick cuz you can reach to lvl 100 fishing , sorry i was late

There must be something wrong with my mouse... when I click, either click-hold or click-repeatedly the bar hardly moves at all. Once in a while, it'll shoot straight to the top then drop all the way back to the bottom regardless of what I'm doing, I've found no way to control it at all. Most frustrating part of SDV. If it weren't for a fishing mod I'd never fish. I'm playing this to relax, not get frustrated. =P

I still bleive trap bobber is better for galcier fish. Catching it is way harder even with this build because the movement speed and regularity of plunging of it always exceed the fishing bar. Since problem is the movement speed and plunging, I bleive making it escape slower is better choice.
