Every time I go for a head, neck and shoulder massage, my therapist always lovingly plays with my curls. She is Thai, so getting to touch curly hair isn’t something she really got to do before coming to Australia. She’s not the only one haha. I’ve been to many Vietnamese, Thai and Malaysian salons and they always fall in love with my natural ringlets. And I love that they seem so charmed by my silly old hair. Something I’ve had my whole life and even tried to get rid of! (The early 2000’s were not curly girl friendly lol). They are always so surprised how soft curly hair is. It’s really sweet how much they love it. It helps me love it too!!! Something I never really saw as beautiful, I do now! It’s so wholesome.

I have almost this exact curl pattern: thin ringlets. It’s SOOOOO nice to have a vid of someone playing with ‘my’ hair because nobody plays with it enough irl 😢 I get that people don’t want their hair ruined, I have the occasional day where I really worked to style it or love how it looks and don’t want a curl out of place- but the vast majority of the time I WANT PEOPLE TO PLAY WITH MY HAIR!!! I keep it soft for me, but not just for myself!! It saddens me that people feel like they can’t ask to touch my curls anymore. I’d love if people asked to play with/spring them. It’s so much fun for me, for the person, and it feels super nice and relaxing. Sometimes I let my husband brush it out into a frizzy poof bc he thinks it’s fun and I love how it feels when he’s messing with it 😂❤

My curls are growing... It's from my mom's side. The hairs are fine which I got from my dad's side. I play with my curls after a shower which bounces the most then. Also I get more knots than split ends. I detangle them twice a week when I shampoo and condition it with the same frequency. It does dry out if I go out in the sun for some time. When I look at fallen hairs it kinda has variations. Some just look wavy while others are more curly and coily. I think they coil more because they get pulled out while I play with it. This ASMR is extra tingly because I relate to the title.
