You Have to Hear It to Believe It | 1983 Ducati TT2 Vintage Racer

Built one of these back in the mid 1980s after Tony Rutter won the Worlds F2 on them. Pantah 650cc engine because it had the better clutch than the 600cc version. Verlicchi trellis frame with the alloy box section swingarm, same wheels and Marzocchi 41mm forks. Exhaust was from the Bob Brown Ducati that Kevin McGee raced in Australia at the time. I fitted the F1 fairing as it was smaller and looked better (imo). 40mm Mallossi carbs. I built it up in GOWANLOCHS Ducati in Canterbury, Sydney Australia under the guidance of Gowy and Arthur. Great memories, such good 'family' there. I raced it a few years in Australia and then sadly lent it to my then engine builder to race at Bathurst (Mt Panorama) and he crashed it. He didnt return the bike for months, he just disappeared. When he did finally return it was with all the damage and crap repairs, he just dropped it off one day when I was out. Broke my heart.

Super cool machine, I'm lucky enough to have 2 of them a Verlicci framed TT1 and a Harris framed TT2 so tiny, just a pocket full of small block torque, nothing but the essentials

He said they had them on WSBK/GP bikes in 1992. ECU were not widespread before 1988-89, so I imagine early 1990 is when development likely began and implemented by race teams. Fascinating stuff!

I am sure that with a little searching you could have found a "proper" 600cc Ducati TT2 to talk about. Please learn the history of these bikes, there were only about 40 of these bikes ever produced.
