I am an Iranian scientist. Sweet potatoes are very much underutilized. One of the first things to do with Sweet potato is to make them tetraploidy like potatoes. Great job sister you are very smart and on the right track.

This is so great! I just came across this video when i was looking for info on growing them in my apartment in the Netherlands. But this is so inspiring to watch! Not just for growing plants and vegetables but also for doing so much more for your country, your surrounding, other woman, other farmers. Verry inspiring!

Normally I dont like the lot of talking but i must say i enjoyed listening to you because you seem to be very informed. Like you i decided that i would plant things that i did not have to spray because i have a real problem with butterflies, slugs snails and millipedes. Now i want to see a video of you harvesting those potatoes. I live in the caribbean and i cant find the purple variety anywhere

I noticed that what i was going to add has already been pointed out by at least two commentators. My friend from the DRC has a one hect plot i helped him lease, just outside Pretoria in South Africa. I was waiting to consume his sweet potatoes, as is the norm in Kenya. Lo and behold it came to me as a surprise that in the DRC they cook the leaves of the sweet potatoes as a foodstuff!!! With proper cooking instructions, we not only discovered a delicious and nutritious food.

This is an old video, so I don't expect an answer, but I have to ask why you would buy sweet potato chits after your first harvest? If you started with certified chits, then the potatoes should be fine to take them from. Probably be able to produce enough to plant your acre with 20 potatoes or so. Not a critique, just curious as to your reason.
