I believe that BeamNG is long overdue for an engine sound update, but this mod fixes it!

I like them, however these just make every car sound like if it had a aftermarket exhaust. You even showcased the covet in the video, a very normal and stock covet, I think that the vanilla sounds are much more realistic in that case, the modded sounds make it sound like a race car almost.

i guess this mod if for people who just want better sounding cars or louder cars and dont care if it sounds aftermarket or stock. kind of like in racing games like forza where every car is unusually loud compared to it's real life comparison.

mod creator here, the exhaust sounds by default have a "muffling" value, since theyre synthesized. but since my sounds arent synthesized, i have to compromise by making the sound good enough for race configs, and try to muffle it using the EQ for lower end configs. its not perfect i admit, but you have to make do with software limitations sometimes. as for the intake sounds, on all cars they are recordings of real engines so i dont see an issue with them.

@@hondacivic-uo8ne yeah, that's exactly my thought. This fits very well for something like forza, where all the cars there are the top of the line performance models and not so much in Beam, but I do understand why people prefer using it, not everyone is up for realism here

@@SourDisc they sound fantastic and loved the intake sounds aswell, but like I said, some sounds do not match the car, like being kinda loud when I'm driving a stock 90hp covet. But I understand your goal and loved what you done regardless, although I won't use it. Keep up the good work. Also, perhaps you could make a separate mod for the intake sounds, like, keeping the vanilla engine sounds and just add the intake noises?

I think a great way to describe this mod is it's like how the sound design in Forza is. They sound great in their own right, but are exaggerated in volume as if every vehicle has muffler delete.

Improved sounds are good for the sport/race builds of cars, but for the stock cars I think will be better original sounds

The i4 configs for the ibishu cars sound perfectly and crazy realistic. However, this mod falls short on the 6-cylinder configs. The V6 variant sounds awful compared to BeamNG's, and the i6 variant is a joke, sounding worse than the one from Automation when you import a car. I wish there were an easy way to disable the 6-cylinder mod sounds, but I like the idea of the mod itself. Giving every car a slightly different note is definitely something BeamNG would do in the next three years. As for the V8 configs and diesels, they already sound top-notch and quite similar to their real-life counterparts. It's just the stock I4 variants that sound too dull.

(mod creator here) just delete the jbeams in the mod for the cars you dont want, but most v6 sounds are just place holders and will be changed in future. also its pretty hurtful how much people like to complain about the way this mod sounds when i have put so much work into it, especially since they probably have no clue how it works or how it could be improved. so just be careful, im sorry it wasnt up to your standards.

@@SourDisc Well the only reason I felt to criticise the 6 cylinder varients were because of the expectations that were created with the 4 cylinder ones. But in regards to audio manufacturing I bet it is a maticalse matter, and most likely the 6 cylinder samples you found online weren't sounding right when modifying them to work with beamng,s game engine. One time I tried modifying the asphalt sounds in beamng since before the update they sounded awful, but with little experience in audio manipulation I couldn't get it to work or sound right at all even with realistic samples. Even with the 6 cylinder varients I still think this is one of the most best vanilla-like mods out there and I congrats you on that.

@@beamingNG thanks, most of the i4 sounds i used were either recorded by me specifically with engine sound modding in mind, or by other people for the same reason. so its no wonder they sound a bit better than the rest, since you can control exactly what youre recording. since you need very specific conditions of the engine to be recorded (i,e under load, low, mid high rpm, idle, decceleration etc) and it makes a big difference compared to trying to do the same with a youtube video (which is what i did for the i6 sounds.) the v6 sounds come from engine sim and people didnt complain about them when they were in engine sim, but when they are on my mod, you bet they found something they didnt like haha, these are all just parts of the hell that is sound modding though ig

@@beamingNGcopy the "art" folder into the vehicles .zip file, then find the engine jbeam of the car with the sound you life from my mod, then copy the "soundconfig" lines from that and replace the same lines in the modded vehicle. i could make a tutorial on that actually

It's no different to installing virtually every other mod, the only thing you need to do is put the .zip file you downloaded into the BeamNG mods folder (or simply, the folder where you put all you other mods :)

Open the game, go to repository, click on mods manager in the upper left corner than under 🔧 click Open Mod Folder. From the new window drag n drop the download zipped mod files in “repo” Go back to the game and enjoy
