In ancient Egyptian mythology, Anubis is totally chill. Dude literally gatekeeps the underworld, letting the chill dudes pass and letting the assholes have their hearts devoured by the crocodile/lion/hippo Ammut. Set/Seth is the true villain in Egyptian mythology, and even he was still revered as a god and given some positive attributes.

For those wondering, Gandhi being a nuke-crazy maniac in the Civilization series is a reference to a glitch in Civilization 1. In Civilization 1, AI aggression is stored as an 8-bit number, and Gandhi's base aggression is only 1 (because he was a pacifist), but if events in the game make his aggression decrease to zero, it will underflow to 256, making him insanely aggressive.

Anubis was pretty chill, he was the "Okay, you have done X good things and X bad things so do we let you into the afterlife" guy. Hades is more of a bureaucrat trying to keep the underworld running than however he's portrayed nowadays. Loki is more of a walking inciting incident, or a "If I have to go do this then you're coming with me" for Thor than a villain except for that one time. If you want an actual annoying one, there's the Aztec god Tezcatlipoca, who's whole deal is that he does his best to make the sun (there have been several, he was the first) rage quit. A process he's consistently succeeded at for a while now.

3:40 The life expectancy was so low almost entirely because of infant mortality. People that didn't die to disease or starvation during childhood generally lived to be 50-60 even back then. The Romans also had certain cultural practices that made infant mortality even worse, which is why their was even lower than medieval life expectancy. For the "days off" of medieval peasants, keep in mind that you're actually getting paid for the vast majority of the work you do on your work days. "Labor tax", where peasants would have to do unpaid labor for their local landowning aristocrat was a common practice that didn't even start going away until the French Revolution and ultimately endured all the way into the late 19th century in some places (like Russia). For all their "mandatory holidays", most peasants couldn't actually afford to rest on those days: those were just days where the church forced the nobility to let the peasants to the work and chores at home necessary to keep themselves fed.

On Civilization and Ghandi's Nuke Happy nature: This is actually a call back to a bug in the first game (possibly the second, but pretty sure it was the first) where Ghandi's aggression was set to 1 naturally. But when/if the player changed to the Democracy government, all other civilizations' aggression would be reduced by 2. Due to a coding bug, this changed Ghandi to a ridiculously high aggression (like, 999 or something like that) and yes, he would eventually begin nuking everything.

Anubis, Hades and Loki, are all chill, Loki is a HUGE ANNOYANCE at worst, Hades, when compared to his fellow Greek gods, is CHILL, a decent amount of his fellow Greek gods, and Anubis is just chill.
