Hello From the UK.....I love the stuff you do....its not just the fact you take the time to make the tool but you always paint it and give it a proper finish.....thats the craftsman in you.

That driveway marker installation tool is a great idea Doug! I started putting the markers in at an angle after watching your first video telling why you put them in that way. I've only had to replace one marker, since installing them that way, because a truck backed over it

Great video and awesome idea. We often have the markers disappear during the winter because they hit a rock or "seemed" in far enough only to fall later with the wind. That tool serves as a good gage to verify depth on each marker. No guesswork or rework!

I love making custom tools like that and black iron and rebar are my go-to materials for making them. I have a couple of ideas I’d be tempted to add: 1. Notch a cutout in the side of the handle near the top so that I can fit my thumb in to hold the stake so it doesn’t fall out when I turn it over to drive it into the ground. 2. To ensure even spacing, attach a spring-loaded retractable cable, like a long key reel that janitors use, that is long enough to span the distance between stakes. It could be like a 15’ tape measure. Attach an alligator clip to the end. Clip the end to the last stake, walk to the next until the line is pulled all the way out, or to a marked length on the line, then drive the next one. Give the line a tug to unclip from the previous stake to repeat the process.

You have certain criteria for what needs accomplished and you were able to implement the criteria into the tool that makes it very easy to accomplish the task it was intended for. Well dummy me said, "I'm gonna prove ol' Dougie wrong." My wife had just baked a red velvet cake for when the family would come over later for our Thanksgiving dinner. I thought while defending my horizontal splitter, I would help the wifey out by pre-slicing that cake. I did clean the splitter before doing this, which turned out to be the only positive step in this experiment. I'm posting this while curled up next to ol' Carl in the doghouse. Btw, Doug, I didn't mention your name. (J-k'n)😅
