1:39 I actually had those when I had ear surgeries. I had to put them in when I was showering because there were these little things (in my country it's called "tubus") that clear out my ears and they couldn't touch water, so that's why I had to use that. I also couldn't use ear/headphones and only could go to the beach if I use them, and barely put my head underwater. My ears would also ring and it really hurt. I remember in school my ears rang so bad I collapsed. The "tubus" was supposed to fall out after 1 year but I kept on having surgeries every year. I had these little "tubus" in my ears for like 5 years, and had around 7 ear surgeries.

I had custom earplugs made twice actually. I had ear tubes inside my ears, and I needed custom earplugs so I could go underwater during that time period. My first pair worked well, but they eventually started leaking, so I got a second pair that fit better a year or so later. The process of putting the molding goo inside the ear does feel very weird and quiet though.

I have a retracted eardrum and I have a ear plug just like that. I will never forget when I had it made at my ear doctors the stuff is a cold feeling when they put it in your ear but as soon as it dries it’s a rubbery feeling. I have to wear it every time I shower or swim.
