FOMO helps keep people engaged in events and buying, but if they brought all the event skins back in after X amount of time would be great. You can pull it a couple of times and be fine, but after a streak big enough it just ends up being discouraging for completionists. They could honestly just sell battlepass cosmetics at a significant markup after the events and justify buying the BP on day one by having it be a better deal than buying it afterwards. But above all it would literally cost them nothing to not disintegrate lore entries.

5:52 in case anyone in the comments is experiencing the same bug and does not know how to fix it yet: You can remove the mouse cursor by opening a menu, unplugging your mouse so the cursor disappears, plugging it back in and closing the menu. Works for me, in other games too btw ^^

It's funny how you mention the beetle when it's actually busted in trios if people use it.... now that it does 50 dmg again you can send out a beetle if your team mate tags someone for basically a free kill. I've gotten so many beetle kills since this update because the new map is third party city. I started taking 4 beetles just to try teams when I solo.

Im just disappointed that we have been lied to. They wanted to address issues but simply didn't. Where are the trading changes that take about 2 days to implement? This has been an issue for 4 years. They said they would be able to eliminate bugs better and faster with this. Game is buggier than ever and it took them weeks just for a small hotfix that addressed like 5% of the issues and some of them weren't actually fixed. There were so many broken promises, all the old issues that held the game back are still present. I feel like im going crazy when i see people defend this completely unfinished update and complain that people leave negative reviews. When promises are broken, monetization gets predatory and the game still has the same issues that it has had for years it is completely valid to be a bit angry and yes even whine a bit about it. Crytek should be glad they have such a dedicated fanbase and yet they didn't even give us a little "sorry that we broke promises and released a broken mess". Why on earth did they not just push this back 4 months? That's about how long it would take from now to fix the issues considering Cryteks slow bug fixing speed.

I agree that the game has it's issues, the crashing is certainly no fun (though truth be told, I'm running an older gen. Nvidia GTX 1070 - so about the same generation as the RX 400 and 500 series - and my game doesn't crash very often at all personally). HOWEVER - and this *isn't* sucking up to Crytek - but some leniency is needed. They DID test their new update, it's why it took them almost an entire year to implement and test it. But having your games' new release being played by tens of thousands of people daily WILL make bugs and issues occur, sadly. People just need a little patience, and the problems will be smoothed-out (just like with Cyberpunk 2077, No Man's Sky and Risk of Rain 2's recent DLC's).

The popup wants you to chose 1 of the 3 rewards: 1. Money 2. Extra XP 3. Legendary item Guess what happens when you click next next next without selecting any of the 3 options.... The game defaults the first option... WHY? HOW? Why can I click next next next next without selecting an option? Why default any option instead of disabling the next next next buttons when no option is selected? Outside of the goods and bads, the worst thing Crytek pulled is unified weekly challenges. I literally uninstalled the game yesterday because I got tired of getting a heavy bleeding after every other shot at me (because now we have a weekly challenge of bleeding hunters, and EVERYBODY plays with dum-dums). Will I install it again? Yes, after 2300 hours (Ribb, high five) I have an additction I don't care to get rid of. But I will wait for a week just for these challenges to update.

For me, I quit hunt a year ago because the balancing and community is dogshit. I came back because this update gave me some hope. Necro rebalance, new map, rule of 2, weapon rebalance, etc made me interested in the game again. But once again, I come to realize why I actually dislike crytek and what they've done to this game. Bleed ammo is on practically every gun, they buffed traps, they buffed shotguns, the drone beetles are hilarious to troll with but are genuinely kinda broken. The UI wastes your time to the point of absurdity and it isn't a small complaint. And finally you can buy a CD key bundled with cheats for 4 dollars on cheatdev websites. I think its time to stop defending Crytek

Great video! I feel like the only real sin I'd call cryrek out for and wish it got more notice in the community is the removal of ALL 3 previous maps, with desalle possibly not returning until november or december, that's up to 4 months! Not having a legacy launcher/ "test server" branch run for atleast 3-6 months while people test their specs against the "sequel" is also something that should've been attempted. Such a move might've actually staunched the UI bad review bomb wave because then there would still be a satisfactory game to go back and play. Crytek artists and level designers have absolutely delivered, the level(s) aren't 30% boring anymore, the battlepass cosmetics look great., and the song's actually grown on me beyond the original theme.

We’re in the minority it would seem about thinking the necro changes were good👌Now I’d just love to see the jumping/vaulting mechanics reworked and make it to where guns get pulled back when against a wall. The term "review bombing" itself is even a problem, in that it creates a de facto negative connotation is only used to just dismiss criticism. What people are actually talking about is just leaving a review, and they're saying that they don't want you to do that. They ported over an entirely new version of their ENGINE, and it is currently being stress-tested and QA'd by HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of people each day. Good and bad change. It's good to not lock teams in a slugfest with accessible outs to standoffs which a slower burning rate doesn't always stop. Burning faster forces teammates to think about their position relative to each other more which also makes for more strategic fights. The negative is that people will burn regardless of it being needed or not just because it's really good and cheap AF as well as giving you the upper hand instantly. This leads to more time being spent running for health bars rather than actually playing the game. It also implies that you ALWAYS have chokes on you as they become vital to balancing a fight where your partner is downed leading to a very streamlined tool choice (as it has always been though)

This is a really dumb take, I'm not going to lie. People can have negative opinions regarding something, while continuing to interact with said thing. The world isn't black and white, just because people voice their issues in negative reviews does not mean they need to put the game down. Crytek is notorious for taking weeks if not months to fix things as well as ignoring the community. They're constantly informed of issues on the TTS, and Crytek does nothing and lets the update launch with all of the issues that were being reported during the TTS. So yeah, a lot of the player base has gotten fed up and now go straight to the reviews. This isn't the first time Hunt has been review bombed, it has always recovered to pre-review bomb after the issue is solved, and this certainly will not be the last time the game is review bombed either.

I found a bug that if you are in-game but Alt+Tab, I would still have the main menu layer active, so everytime I press SPACE the settings menu would pop up xD and the mouse icon was always visible!

Hey, sweetheart, maybe go read some more reviews instead of perusing top comments where little girls (like you) complain about UI. Some of us have actual gambreaking issues now with shaders (on Reddit Crytek lied about 3% of players, it's actually closer to 8%), and to play it we had to download a 2 year old AMD driver that makes Hunt look like Minecraft and every other game consistently crash, which is absolutely ridiculous. The fact that when I bought this game 5 years ago and my specs were way beyond recommended, and my game still runs on 90+ FPS on the new update, makes it clear that I don't have a subpar rig- it is the *engine* issue, and they've had more than enough time to properly test the update internally and on the live server, and yet they still launched it with same bugs from from the last engine because they copy pasted half the code and half-assed the rest of it, bringing back literally 3 year old bugs, while making changes to satisfy certain devs' playstyles (one wants to play more avto- np, add a version of obrez with 25 bullets to make it more spammy; another wants to snipe medium range (

The outcry about the UI is blown way out of proportion, I totally agree.. and if it was only that I think the fallout would be not nearly as bad. But the bad performancey the bugs, the game crashes, the reconnect feature that sometimes works and sometimes just steals your hunter.. that are so many sourced of frustration that led to a negative review, at least for me and the ones I play with. Because we love this game and would love to play it and not be faced with countless error every time we try to touch it. I guess that's the main source of annoyance, that a game once beloved and played very often is now so beautiful and so improved but it makes it impossible to be played sometimes. And when my partner has for the third time a mouse in her screen and then the game crashes due to opening the map noone is having fun in this game.

I am still getting one shot killed while hitting nothing or if I do hit it isn't a one shot kill, even with a shotgun. I am finding my self with a shotgun hiding in a corner hoping I wont get one shotted by a bow and arrow from 30 meters.

I'm afraid that's the game. Some rounds you'll put three bullets into three enemy heads for the clutch victory, other times you get one tapped from 90+ meters with a sniper.

Review bombing is cringe but they showcased the UI before they put it in the game and everyone was super unhappy way before they implemented it. By the time they released it they knew what the reaction was going to be.

The gameplay this update is absolute cooking. But the UI is genuinely so atrocious that it’s a severe downside, and I’m not even joking, I’ve played more games where a function (tab to open map, ping, voice chat) doesn’t work for no reason, than I have where they all work. There’s tons of ups and tons of downs, but I think the problems are easily fixable and I’m hopeful for the future.

While I too am enjoying the gameplay, the menus make me so mad I have quit the game before. Like it will dismiss the wrong hunter, refuse to select the correct hunter, ESC takes you to the main menu and not the bounty hunt screen, I don't know where half the screens are, etc. etc. Bullet drop hasnt really effected me much tbh. shotguns are more annoying but not too bad. Honestly the worst part about hunt right now is that I am well into 6 star and everyone is too sweaty.

Glad to see you back! I left a negative review, and I'll keep it. No game deserves a benefit of the doubt when I crashed 4 times in a row for the opening map on the 1st day of the game. But It annoys me that there are plenty of unnecessary small-ish changes, a rarity for weapon skins that don't make sense, and their seeming attitude to delete stuff instead of doing something about it, Generators? Gone, Shoulder lamp? Gone. I still feel negative reviews are 100% justified, it's one thing to unnecessary shit on the game becasue of UI but it's another story when we had this UI preview a month ago, and nobody liked how it looked, Crytek got feedback, what they did do with it? Jack shit. So, you have what coming for you. Simple as that, can't feel bad about Crytek if they don't care what players have to say. End of story.

Just something to note, the ui is as bad if not worse on consoles. At least Pc players still have a cursor. We physically can’t check weapon stats or perks In game anymore. That’s the main issue for me. Well, that and Crytek has decided to give us a downgrade Lmao

I think it's less of a hit reg problem and more of a server strain problem. To be fair, their game has shattered their concurrent player records recently, so their servers are probably chugging along at max capacity these days.

i'd rather have a functional game instead of a beautifull buggy game, especially the dc bug on opening map is crazy, not only does the game take ages to open it also take ages to reconnect while your hunter is completely vulnerable, if the bug is hard to fix add the possibility for your teammates to move you to some safe location. I don't even wanna get started on the ui menu, alot of bugs and even the things that are not buggy are crazy bad designed but im willing to ignore that since it is not an important part of the game but i cba by the whole things that are fcked up right now ingame, i mean seriously for ages now npcs can randomly start focusing you because someoneelse from a different direction made loud noises by shooting, the fcking npc did not even see me, im crouching behind a wall, why is he running to me and not to the gunshot noises? ah because im closer? didn't know he can sense me...

They updated the entire engine the game is running on, as well as adding a slew of other changes. The game IS going to be buggy for a little, that's how live service games are. In a perfect world, developers will be able to account for every bug and hiccup the game encounters when stress-testing their build to be suitable for 100,000+ players post-release, but they can't. They've already addressed or have made note of most of the important bugs needing to be addressed. All that's needed from the innumerable playerbase of man-children is a little patience to push the patch fixes -- which, of course, is impossible.

@@BaeruemFull Hunt Showdown is in the top 50 list of the most played games on Steam, they're more than popular. Also I can't help but heavily disagree. Does nobody remember Cyberpunk 2077? No Man's Sky, even? And look at them now. With enough time rolling out updates and patch fixes, No Man's Sky *AND* Cyberpunk 2077 are both great games. In fact, as if to illustrate that point further, they're both popular games as far as Steam Charts' statistics concern. Hunt Showdown has it's share of issues, and that's to be EXPECTED from a live service game. People just need a single shred of patience instead of lighting torches and arming pitchforks like a crowd of whiny children. Hell, even Risk of Rain 2's most recent update has seen it's brunt of bugs and issues. All of which will be amended in the coming days/weeks. Still, it doesn't stop petulent children from review-bombing the game like adult infants.

@@BaeruemFull There isn't much of a difference. All of those instances buckled and showed their buggy nature when placed against the stress test of a sudden influx of players. No Man's Sky and Cyberpunk's major content updates all come with their share of bugs - just like Hunt Showdown has numerous times in the past. Play-testing a new update on the developers' computers is one thing. Having *TENS OF THOUSANDS* of people stress-test your new update/release is entirely different, and WILL show bugs no matter what. Hunt isn't a big game to the average persons' eye - but neither is No Man's Sky and Cyberpunk. Object culling and distance rendering make NMS, Cyberpunk 2077 and Hunt Showdown about as equally intensive as each other. If anything, Hunt Showdown is MORE intensive of a game because it also requires consistent network correspondance between the servers and it's players. No disrespect, but Hunt Showdown's current state is not surprising. It has been through similar 'states' in the past if anyone cares to remember, so has every other live service game pushing a release or a major update. Hell, even SMALL updates can sometimes screw up a game. Do you remember just how unplayably bad the servers in Hunt Showdown were about ~2 years ago? They pushed a minor update which completely ruined their servers for about 2 weeks. it happens, it's NORMAL. People just need to have more patience.

as someone who bought hunt off a whim cause some friends recommended it, then forgot about it (nothing bad, I mean I can't even remember how much I played but just happenstance of the time n stuff) I saw all this new stuff pop up and am still quite interested (bit iffy still cause 70gbs is a very long install for me) but the UI......it's not like it's put me off but I'm gonna wait and see how it goes, I dont want to be relearning a game I played before AND figuring out how to even do anything, where anything is and why [blank] is there instead of here, ya know? but damn that map does look gorgeous if I can run it at a high quality and minimal dlss usage

The amd scaling doesn't look too bad imo. I'd argue that the ui is more than manageable. It takes just about an hour to see everything and hunters don't take that long to kit out. The map and seasonal traits/center cache is more than worth it. I have a 500gb ssd, it's worth the 70gb.

The 2 things I always try to keep in mind when thinking about Cryteks decisions: 1) they're going to create some really messy situations due to really goofy logic and 2) they will *eventually* fix these situations because they care. Yes the Ui is bad. You know what else used to be bad? Shotgun crosshairs, fall damage, trap placement, etc. Yes the throwing spear is overpowered. You know what else used to be overpowered? Avto with Sparks pistol, dualies crouching accuracy, dolch spam, etc. In time these issues will get fixed, and while we wait I'm still going to have lots of fun playing a goofy cowboy zombie game with friends.

I bought hunt a couple of months before 1896, but didn't know at the time that the asian servers are fucked, showing 90ms in menu but getting 220ms in game. So I was forced to play in eu or oceania which is not my region but had better ping somehow 160-180ms. This wasn't great for me as I quit all comp fps games before and came back in just because of hunt was so interesting, so my aiming was shit + the bad ping, it was not a great experience.

So, I quit hunt, again hoping they would fix the servers on update 1896. They did, sort of, now I get 90ms matches 4/10 times I play in asia. The rest still 220ms, the main problem is it's a gamble. I have no Idea if is gonna be a green or red latency match until I'm in the match, Great. So now I play on EU, again where i get yellow latency every game 170ms. I have no hope now that Crytek is gonna fix this, as with all the new players coming in for the update, they didn't fix it. And with the negative reviews the hype is also gonna be dead soon, so I don't see a monetary gain for them if they do. But I'll still be playing on EU, I'll lose some hunters who cares, I still love the game. Happy hunting

Hunt will mever be successful if every second cqb fight ends in a trade and 60% of players abuse a high ping because there is no ping limit. Not mentioning the constant desync and rubber banding in every match. Its crazy to me that not that is the main complain but some random ass shit ui which is trash indeed but not as much as all the other things.

I had to reinstall the game 3 times just to get it running, the game used to run 90-60 fps, now runs at 20-30 The game visually glitches(everything missing, everything purple straight source engine missing texture esq.), darksight just refused to work for several matches, my game stutters if I crouch (???? like why ?????)(yes stutter from 20-30 fps) But no I'm just hater and a loser, and can't be satisfied, I will see myself out as soon as I can navigate the menu and kms for leaving a negative review on this beloved game
