this may be an unpopular opinion, but how is it the hairdresser fault what weather is? maybe it’s cuz i live in the midwest and there’s been soo many times where i’ve left the salon and it was either snowing or raining. lol. i’m not saying it’s not nice of them to offer a cap, but also i don’t think its their responsibility lol

If your appointments are that far in advance, you still can check the weather actually.. but you could also just get a stylist that doesn’t do appointments so far you can’t predict things lol. Either way you know the day of if it’s gonna rain, your responsibility to be prepared.. not really theirs. It’s not apart of their job, but sure it’s nice. An umbrella and more you can bring yourself like a hood is better than a cap they can give

Yes! Definitely especially if the client got a blowout or a color done. For color you would not want that color bleeding onto their clothes. And clients usually do not want fresh blowouts to be ruined by the rain. So the first girl made a wonderful suggestion.

You have to have pretty good "chair side" manner to be a cosmetologist. Not doing anything or just being like "oh well!" Is going to leave you with unsatisfied customers and they wont always feel good coming back. Im not a very social person but ive found i actually love working in customer service positions because i enjoy going the extra mile for someone and helping them.

I always tell hairdressers not to style my hair much after the haircut if it's humid outside, unless they need it to check the cut. My hair is wavy and it'll puff out in 3 minutes top, no need for unnecessary heat, really, but most still try to iron the f out of it 😅

I have a feeling they wouldn't like it anymore, if they ended up in that situation for real lol. Forecast isn't always right and sometimes you just forget, but also it's just part of a hairdressers job to also give advice for the care/styling and potentially give something like a cap to go when needed. If they don't care about what happens to their work (the hair) after you get up from that chair, they're a bad hairdresser.

Seems like many people in the comments don't live in countries where it rains often, so it's hard to avoid and I guess their weather apps are never wrong/their weather is never unpredictable. It seems like there are options to offer, so I don't get why the hairdresser wouldn't offer something even if the client simply forgot to bring something to protect their hair (an umbrella doesn't protect as well as a cap tho, so it might be necessary for the hairdresser to provide anyway). Especially if they got their hair dyed, because that's not just a alight inconvenience, but actually would ruin their clothes too...
