I'm a Craig fan, but you're the only one who's actually "customizing" versus restoring and adding mass market parts

true dat, but you have to keep in mind that Craig (and also Sean) neither has any of Pauls metal construction equipment, nor would he know how to make use of it. he also gotta stay within his budget - so off-the-shelf parts it is.

Paul Sr has gained so much more respect by joining in on this build off challenge. I love seeing him doing some real fabrication on a bike that can actually be ridden. The worst is possibly the “beard” guy buying a really nice “parts bike” that more than doubled the 3k cost they all agreed too.

Paul Sr. is the reason why i became a mechanic. I grew up watching American Chopper as a kid and that kickstarted my interest in motorcycles, wrenching and fabricating. You mean Sean who's got literally zero experience with doing builds like this closest he's done is a few whacky bikes where craig did virtually all the work And craig who's a bike mechanic not a bike customiser Your also forgetting that due to the above reasons neither of the other 2 have the knowledge or most of the equipment paul has at his disposal to make all these customisations craig is also in the middle of moving his workshop plus he and Sean have much bigger channels that have to produce other content craig already had like 3 other projects on the go This was all setup to make paul sr look good and show he's a real bike builder due to the miscommunication and him thinking they was saying he wasn't which is what sparked all this Sean and craig have no real interest in winning they want to give the old guy some decent content

I kind of like how this thing is starting to look. Yamaha make some decent looking 'Harley Style' bikes, and this was just crying out to be stripped back, and cleaned up. I can also appreciate brakes that work and suspension that soaks up bumps. Neither of which my Sportster daily ride seems to have! I love it...but. Partly my fault as I have lowered shocks, and a single seat with no padding. But I blame Harley for a hefty bike with a single disc.I pared it back, wire tucked it, relocated the coils and hid the ECU under the sidepanel. Cut back rear fender and neater rear light. Less is more to me, so I can see I'm gonna like where you are going with this. Maybe my next bike will be an XV1700.....like this one.

Everyone voted for Paul to do a metric bike because he is a pro custom HD builder, and even though he is outside his element, Paul has a huge advantage. With Pauls skills, it's impossible to handicap him enough to make it an even playing field unless the rules call for his bike to fly through the air or dive under water.
