When using promoted listings eBay always suggests around 12% promotion. I can understand this when you are selling in a very crowded category with lots of competition but I think this is probably a bit too much for used items. I tend to use 5%. Finally, have you been able to quantify the differences between unpromoted Vs promoted? It's easy to do this when you have a consistent stock but with one-off items it tends to be a case of hoping the promotion caused the sale Vs it happening anyway. Thanks again - you are one of the few KZbinrs that get into the specifics rather than the same old videos week after week!

Thank you! I think we’ve given up with analysing promoted listings really, we just stick it on everything and it’s nice when things sell without. We’ve experimented with so much over the years, different rates for different items, categories, value etc etc but I do think it’s easy to spend too much time thinking about.

I've stuck at 5% as you have said in other videos.... for a tool that eBay push to generate more revenue - they do a very bad job of explaining the difference between what a 'percent promotion ' actually means - what is the difference between 1% and 6% (besides them taking a bigger cut!)

Cap is 25 per day, and yes you do have to order the day before, I buy my labels and pack in the evening and then postie collects the next day. I do have a safe space though so that helps I will also be buying him a nice Christmas hamper to thank for all his help as I couldn't run my business with out collection as I don't drive

Not sure how I commented with an emoji before. Fat fingers. Just wanted to say that you inspired me to check auctions. I'm just dipping my toes into auctions. I always check delivery policy, buyers premium and google lens everything. Easy auction is a good place to start. Have had some lovely pieces and made good profits. It also teaches you a lot about what things to look out for in the wild. Thank you!

Be careful checking shipping policies as some will say they ship but when it comes to it only ship small items. I normally use mailboxes etc for my shipping, I whilst it can be expensive it's normally fast and well packed

@@rjwilki3 Definitely but I hedge my bets by choosing auctions that I can drive to fairly easily if I get carried away! Everything so far has offered postage at a reasonable cost and if you can get cheap items, I don't mind paying for the shipping. Everything has been packed really well so far.

On desktop when you create or edit a listing, it’s right under Item Title. On the mobile app, it’s at the bottom of Item Specifics 👍

If EU and NI are excluded as postal destinations then all items will be excluded, so sellers will miss out on the sales of items that are not covered by the new EU legislation. Ebay have said that listings covered by the legislation will be made invisible in the relevant areas. It may be worthwhile for sellers with items not included in the legislation to wait for clarification before making changes to their postal policies.
