Hi Fleur. I really like where your going with your channel reinvention here. And I wish I could say that I'm going to hunt down most of these books to read after your fascinating introductions to them, but, I haven't been able to read anything for 15-ish months due to long Covid scrambling my brain. However, this is a subject that I'm very interested in and I thought I could mention a few other books worth mentioning, if that's okay. Phonogram by GIllen and McKelvie is the best comic book about the magic of music - it's all very British, and Britpop-ish; Kim Gordon's biography, Girl in a Band, has some fascinating insight into the alternative music scene of the 80s and 90s; Simon Reynold's Retromania is an exploration of the ever changing face of postmodernism in regards to our obsession with the musics of the past; And Ed Piskor's Hip Hop Family Tree, another comic book, is a fantastically simple tracing of the roots of rap. How about films about music next time??
