Lin-Manuel Miranda intentionally gave each character their own musical style which then goes through a journey from song to song. In this case, the British King George III is supposed to sound like a british-invasion pop-style breakup song.

Fun fact about King George III (the character singing) - he went mad during his reign, and it is said that he would frequently babble nonsensical words. Notably “da da da da dat da,” and Lin-Manuel incorporated it into the song because he’s a straight up genius.
@katieyoung89324 жыл бұрын
The lack of words in his chorus alludes to the fact that the actual king george was known for actually going mad when he was in power, note also the lyric ‘when your gone, I’ll go mad’ Also although Jonathan Groff was known for being a spitter, they emphasised on this and didn’t edit it out to add to his character

This song stands out from the other tracks because it sounds like more of a traditional number that you would expect to hear on Broadway. I think this song is a favorite because you have the king of England singing this upbeat twisted love song about murdering people.

I love the specific choices in sound for the characters: Hamilton & his people: Rap/hip-hop (modern, fast-paced) King George: British-invasion, Beatles-esque pop (older, slower) Jefferson: Jazz/rap (He is older than Hamilton and crew, but he's just as quick)

You have to react this live, Jonathan Geoff is a spitter lol and he spitting during this performance became a meme and the director said he did every night and not just when the cameras were rolling to shot this for the movie lol. also him singing bohemian rhapsody on glee is crazy...
@ProperlyGaming16 күн бұрын
Pretty sure the spitting was purposefully done because it was rumored the Mad king George would get so riled up and angry he would spit whilst screaming and be damn near foaming at the mouth in rage and anger, especially around the time of the revolution and afterward.

I realize I seem to be answering your questions WEEKS after you post these, but the different piano sounds are achieved through a program called "Mainstage", which allows the 2 keyboard players to change the virtual instrument being played, those changes are usually triggered through midi and timecode.

You certainly comment more than listening. It's plainly clear that you are far from being interested in the song.
