These Guys are AWESOME to work with Steve, I purchased a Beautiful Pioneer CT-A9X Cassette deck from them all Dialed in and I swear it is as quiet between tracks as a CD ! I sent them pics of my completed Vintage Pioneer SX1280 and Modern Components system to use on their "Customer System" section, maybe will have to send to you at some point. Not a Huge Dollar System but one that really works Well together and somewhat Affordable comparatively speaking, again Great people to do business with. Awesome to see the videos of their Shop.

Hey, I’ve enjoyed your channel for a really long time. In fact I believe I bought a NAD receiver from you some 30+ years ago at Singer. I really enjoy your presentations. I think your guests are fascinating and each have a journey I recognize as familiar. I’ve been into audio since I was a teenager. High end audio since college. I’ve had dozens of speakers and amps and turntables. I lost many in an arson, and have since then built multiple meridian systems in our home. TheTer snd two way rooms and it’s marvelous. But I mis the esoteric gear you present. And it’s motivating me to get up my game. So thanks. Be safe and well. And please tell Robin I found her delightful in your 200k viewer video. She’s clearly your better half. And she must be cool as hell to tolerate what we all love. Makes you a fortunate guy. Thanks for your work. Will keep watching.

It's all that's bad with metal domes :D You can make a better speaker with Be, or carbon domes nowdays. Would be cool to see a remake with modern drivers though. The baffle and enclosure design is still valid.
@LordPrometheous2 жыл бұрын
@@rhalfik I've always been curious to know why a company, especially one with the pedigree and resources of Macintosh, would choose metal domes, ever. In car audio, I often find a particular speaker that interests me, only to discover they have metal domes, and I just can't.

WOW! That really IS an absolutely mind blowing collection of extremely high-end vintage gear! I see many, MANY pieces of gear and speakers there that I've always dreamed of having over the years, but none of which I could ever actually afford to buy! (I still can't, especially since truly high quality vintage stuff like this, especially fully restored, sells for even more now than it did when it was brand new!) Oh, to have a few million dollars "free", just floating around in my bank account, that I could spare to buy a LOT of this stuff, because if I did have that much to spend then I would most definitely go and pick up quite a few of these pieces he has! Damn! (BTW, this new shop looks like it was originally probably a mechanic's garage, with the roll-up door, the lift, etc... Is that true? If so, that's a cool new use for that building.) Since I can't really afford all of the stuff I see there that I would absolutely LOVE to have in my own system, I'll have to just keep dreaming about it, lol!... Maybe someday if I'm ever in the New Jersey area, I'll have to stop in and check out this place! That would be awesome! If I had to choose ONLY ONE thing, I guess the one piece of equipment in there that I REALLY want the MOST, AND I most definitely could USE the most too, is that crossover designer that was designed by Jon Dahlquist(sp?), as I am a speaker designer, builder, repairer, and improver myself, at least as a relatively small scale passionate hobby, and that one piece of gear would be an amazingly awesome and extremely helpful piece of gear to add to my workbench!! (Maybe I'll have to check online on this place's website, to see just how much that thing is going for, and IF I can actually afford it... I'll check that link you posted to this guy's online store and see about that thing!)(IF it's even still available to buy anyway.) Thanks for this video Steve, this was amazing!

I've noticed that no matter how enthused the audiophile is about anything, it's always talked about quietly and gently. I'm sure we are genetically designed with hyper hearing. I have a ANC earset that has a voice only function. It's bliss, just the voice, no ambient noise. But where do I meet all my audiophile friends? Yes, grinning crazily at your still alive (just) bands from way back when getting your ears and diaphragms blown up. A band apart.

A lot here However, what strikes me is each era's/each mfrs "Moonshot" type offerings... all coexisting in this shop! High End's heyday ... Cello's Mark Levinson could do no wrong, Dunlavy's Sovereign mastered countless releases, Pass Adcom, Pass Threshold, Pass Naks, Nak's take on LP eccentricities, a time when any state of the art room could have Jadis, Bruce Thigpen's linear air arm on a VPI, B&W's Nautilus zero baffle externally controlled state of the art low diffraction wavelaunch... and of course Woodstock McIntosh, to 2kw/8kw, three chassis per channel, MC2KW. Moonshot offerings. and the reel to reel-to-reel... etc. The cognitive dissonance intro with Fernando, made this good content even better! Thanks
