That Millionaire study was a huge motivation to me. My wife is a school teacher and I work in the garbage industry so most people would say we are never going to become millionaires. Don’t believe the lies that people will tell you! My wife and I are millionaires! We didn’t inherit anything, and we made an average of $115k per year. A tip of my hat to the caller, I truly wish that I had received such a message when I was 23. I was unfortunately living the mindset previously described and thus didn't seek improvement for myself. One the up side I changed that all last summer when I turned 40. I still believe that I can achieve this goal as a restaurant manager. Thank you for the sound advice. In my narrow scope of investing I am finding that it is in large part a morale/mindset game. I had thought it purely mathematic before exploring this life. I've cleared all debt, have my emergency, and am investing short term with the intention of investing in the place I work. I wish a great deal of success to be had for all those watching your material.

My formula was to buy a house, live in it for a few years, turn it into a rental and have the tenants pay down the mortgage. I owned four houses altogether. I cashed out on them after about ten years and reinvested the profit in my next house. Today I live in an $800k home and owe $30k in total debt.

I've met people who spend their time and energy fighting the system with every ounce of their being, instead of excepting the system for what it is and finding a way to make it work to your advantage, I think that's what keeps most people from getting ahead, standing and protesting how " unfair" this is that is if they only take that same time and energy and pour it into working on themselves they would finally relieze no one's " out to get them"

Dave Ramsey isn't doing cutting edge research here. There have been plenty of studies with similar findings. I would posit that their EDM book is little more than a rehash of "The Millionaire Next Door" that came out more than 25 years ago (and similar books). Financial and wealth management firms have come to similar conclusions for decades.

I worked part time jobs all my life. I didn’t work a full time job (40K a year) till I was 54. Got laid off at 63. I took all my 92K (401K) plus my IRA 60K and bought 100% of Tesla stock. 2-1/2 years later I’m at 1.764 million. Research in stocks, and past mistakes in stocks taught me not to listen to Nay Sayers. I’m holding long for at least 6 more years. Tesla will be a trillion dollar company by that time, since there will be no real competition till 2030. Only Chinese EV makers will be competition to Tesla before that time. Tesla and China will dominate the EV sector in the future. Still time to invest in Tesla. After it gets to 1200 per share again in 2022, it will do another 5-1 split. Than back to 600 a share by 2023.

Be very careful. It's not just Chinese - BMW, VW, Mercedes etc are not far behind Tesla at all. They're a lot bigger than Tesla though. They will be real competition for Tesla by NEXT YEAR, not 2030. Tesla stock relies on more than just the American Market. You've done well so far it seems, but I doubt it's the right time for others to follow, that ship has sailed.
