Nice that they show you right from the start that this is all a fever dream/coma. A lot of symbolic games will pull the "And they were dead/asleep the ENTIRE TIME" twist, and often times not well, so it's nice to have that info right from the start this time.

@@BooskiWooskiI don’t think they meant that they saw the twist coming, they meant it wasn’t executed well or actually removed from the story. Oftentimes this twist makes all of the players actions and stakes feel worthless when at the end it’s revealed “oh everything you did didn’t matter.”

I love how "Cinematic platformer with a small character in big scary world" is its own established subgenre at this point. All the way from Heart of Darkness (PS1) to Limbo, to the Little Nightmares series etc. There's just something we deeply relate to when it comes to these experiences.

A spooky platformer is nothing new, but they're around for a reason. We've got a good art style here, the owl makes for an interesting way to expand on some puzzles, and a mystery of what happened to the sister. Not too shabby for such a short demo.

Nightmares are odd, mine used to be filled with my parents being zombies, being kidnapped by vampires, and being chased by my sister whose face was missing. Now my nightmares are of trying to call my family but the call never connects. A dream like this game seems like it would be kind of fun.

Dream Fun Fact: You can get hurt in various ways inside a dream (sliced, beaten, drowned) -but you CAN'T feel pain you haven't felt before. Meaning you might be sliced, but feel nothing. On the flip side: Pain you HAVE felt before can resurface...but, as you said, in very odd ways. F.ex: I once dreamt of being bitten by a large dog. Except, instead of feeling nothing, I felt the pain of the small electroshock I've gotten, after I accidentally connected to a piece of metal in an outlet. For those who don't know, electro-shock pain feels kinda like a ghost possessing you. It's not a burn outside, but 'inside'. Your muscles also tense up for several seconds, before & after (or how long you're connected, really). The pain was so vivid, I even acknowledged it inside my dream. Making it funnily lucid

In my dreams I can breathe underwater, and I can fly through the air. Once I even dreamt I was in space but I got scared because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find home.

_"If I should die before I wake..."_ Very cool scary figures and nightmarish landscape. I enjoyed the use of the little creepy owl to help solve puzzles. I'm hoping there is otherwise enough to distinguish it by story line from other great platformer games. But I do like the idea of a sleep problem where he is trapped within a nightmare.

If you guys find this fun, please try playing the game DARQ! (Manly please play this I know you're busy but pleaseee ;-;) It's a dark victorian-esque puzzle horror game that has some very unique and fun mechanics! it's a side scroller, but with every level you can twist which dimension you perceive it in. Like shifting which way is up and down, shifting perspectives to allow you to turn down hallways, it's a really creative game! The DLC even lets you separate your head from your body, and you have to switch between them for some challenging time sensitive puzzles! But yeah anyway this game reminds me of that, and I'm excited for the full release!
