My beloved Dad died a few weeks ago by complications of a brain stroke and seven month of hard days with a care home, hospital, wheel chair and neurological damage, and the last time he wasnt with us anymore, only his body was still here...that was a storm we had to walk through.

When you walk through a storm, hold your head up high And don’t be afraid of the dark At the end of the storm, there’s a golden sky And the sweet, silver song of a lark Walk on through the wind Walk on through the rain Though your dreams be tossed and blown Walk on, walk on With hope in your heart And you’ll never walk alone You’ll never walk alone Walk on, walk on With hope in your heart And you’ll never walk alone You’ll never walk alone

It ended up with Gerry and the Pacemakers first. And although Liverpool were the first to sing it at football grounds and adopted it as an anthem, it was sung by loads of different sets of fans throughout the 60s and into the 70s. Before the ugliest aspects of football tribalism set in, and people could no longer enjoy it because they can't over their dislike of Scousers or LFC. Not the fault of Liverpool if the rest of England are "plonkers".
