I got hooked on bantams this year. They are pretty spicy personality wise.

I got some Brahma chicks about 5 months ago. They grew quite fast, and at 4.5 months the males were crowing and mating. Now at about 5 months and a week or so, one hen laid an egg. I read somewhere Brahmas lay at a year age. Although mine are already bigger than bantam size but still pretty small than an adult Brahma. I'm confused if they're pure or a cross between bantam and pure. Plus I used a lot of commercial feed, which I think affects the hormones as well. But I still am pretty confused. Any thoughts about it?

I got two female Buff Brahma Bantams from Cackle Hatchery. Great little birds. Cackle will sale you just females in the bantam breed too. Very calm birds. One of mine jumps at me to pick her up in the morning and hold her. The other one is a little more shy but is calm when I do hold her. So different personalities just like all animals. I also have two old English barred bantam hens and a Crele Bantam hen. All very friendly and calm. Everyone gets along. The Old English Bantam can fly like a quail or pheasant and will surprise you. But a handful of blue berries will get them back and in the pen.

Well done! You got the pronunciation of chooks right! Haven't seen the bantam version in Oz yet

Thank you for your great videos! How are they in a small garden? Not much to forage.

I really enjoy your channel. It’s motivating me to start a flock but I have one question….What do you do with the feathers?

I am a new flock owner and I have 2 month old "hens" one I am told it was a bantam, has a big comb but acts like a hen, I'm so confused. Im confused how this breed is so big with bantam.
