Back in the 70's, I really liked this song, but all my friends liked hard rock bands so I never admitted I liked it. Years later I can finally play this song and I don't care who knows!
@mgebi15 жыл бұрын
Mierpaul there are many songs, artists, like them Manilow, Carpenters. All great music. I know exactly what you mean. But the fact they all had multiple platinum records means those friends were listening too. And I knew they did. So I played the records at home. And those same people who switched stations in public didnt mind hearing it my apartment. By the way "I only want to be with you" was a big favorite and big hit as well. I will never deny it. Still have the album's. Awesome 70s.

Talk about a trip down memory lane! I was driving through a beautiful forest preserve this morning, the sun shining bright. This came on and I flashed back to those easier, simpler times, filled with golden moments. I hadn't heard this in years, and I was in junior high again, dreaming of all the wonderful things life was showing me.Wonderful song, wonderful times. I yearn for times like these again. Cheers to everyone out there!

Absolutely how I feel when I hear this song! I remember my family being at the beach in SC when this song was popular, and the radio station played it often! My friend and I went to the little t shirt store and there was a BCR shirt! I bought one and wore it until it just disintegrated! Love my Rollers!
April 20th , 1 year has gone by without Les in this world. Forever in our hearts, your music never dies. Your sweet voice will always be heard by all who loved you. Rip dear Leslie ♥️

In the US this tune was their last top 10 single during the summer of 1977. Upon its' release I thought it was a departure from what they had previously been doing...and it WAS. The bombastic, layered sound of their productions was seemingly given the "activate-the-mirrored-disco-ball" treatment so to speak. It could've been seen as maybe a way to show they had a maturity about them and weren't a teenybopper band...who knows?? No matter--great tune in my opinion & not one to be ashamed of liking

Boy, this really brings back memories! I can still feel the Roller 'magic' -- the excitement that I felt back then. I always knew they were a really good band. This makes me realize just how good they really were [and are, I'm sure] as musicians. Of course, back then I was too busy swooning over Les to really notice the music that closely! :)

Kathy Booth I know how you feel ! I saw them when I was 10 and cried the whole way through the concert. Goodness it was just so emotional !! Girls were fainting all over the place and the st Johns ambulance people were running about with stretchers all evening. Some 30 years later I saw Leslie in concert but this time I managed to give him a little peck on the cheek - felt just like being 10 again. Poor Leslie, he must think woman are all nuts.

This is probably my favorite song of BCR. When I went to see them in concert when I was in 6th grade some person had me on there shoulders the whole concert cause everyone was older. I think I thought it was a women but it was maybe man. My favorite new plaid shirt had the buttons missing on it due to the girls were pushing and shoving so much. I loved them so much. Yea rob91368, I remember how my dad loved that Grenada as we drove it to a family vacation to Lake Erie. Weird, good old days.

It's simple, they where not like any other group nor were they trying to be. They had there own sound and thats a great thing to have .I was a 16 year old guy when they came to our town (MELBOURNE-AUST)all the girls loved them so my idea was simple i too would listen to them it was good way to meet all the young girls worked a treat .I soon found there songs to have more depth then they were given credit for .Still like them today and this one is my favorite.

@Victor1970s Sad because the 'Strangers in the Wind' album proved to be their critical best with such songs as the title track, Another Rainy Day in NYC and Back on the Street! Their albums with Duncan were awsome rock epics too!

I only saw it with the lower part of my vision, because my eyes were on a higher level of the stage. My eyes never left Derek. It drove the audience wild though, that's why I noticed it. My sister and I were in the "nosebleed section" so we had a fair view of the stage.
