This film is a masterpiece on so many levels. One of the gems is seeing Nicholson's character struggle with expressing his positive feelings (insults and complaints come much more easily). I know many men with similar dispositions and I've never seen it done so tenderly as it is in this movie.

Profoundly unrealistic. He has no empathy. Thats why he doesnt even realize when he is being a jerk. Uses money to buy this girl's favors. The guy is a narcissist. Hes not even trying to be "better". He just wants this girl and thinks if he acts more like her, he will get her.

00:20 - 1:06 is even more beautiful to me than the compliment scene. The music, the camera movement, the romantic athmosphere, him being so lovely, sexy and relaxed by just watching her, the way she reacts when she sees him, the way he smiles and waves at her to come over. It's the first moment they seem to have a real connection. Such a beautiful scene.

I had acute ocd - hospitalised with it - but with immersion therapy, cbt and the support of family and friends I now lead a normal life. Ocd thoughts only an issue if I get run down and tired but after a good sleep no problem. In short you can manage the disorder.
