FACT: Aftermarket lights are safer under the right circumstances. I have never been flashed by others even with rocking the brightest lights on the market (GTR Lighting Ultra 2 & Lasfit LS Plus 90W). It is all about control. If you use projectors and have the light controlled and adjusted properly it is safe for others around you. They have to be aimed properly. The brighter and more controlled the light is the safer it is. The ones with blinding lights are not the ones who have them properly aimed or are using the wrong bulbs and/or housings. While conversions and aftermarket lights are illegal in most states, if you do your lighting properly most law enforcement will not mind it. I have never been pulled over for my lighting upgrades.

Thank you I try and explain this to people. It’s very hard for a lot of people to understand since they have never given much thought to how headlights work. I have MLED 2.0 BiLED projectors in one car in the low beam reflector spot with 2 stroke 3.0 led bulb for the 9005 high beam reflector and those suckers are extremely bright but I also never get flashed. And when I got to car meets I have my girlfriend drive one of the cars. That allows me to see how much my lights glare or not. And they legit look like any other oem car with LED’s that are aimed properly. The only time lights ever blind me is when they are improperly adjusted or the vehicle is towing a trailer or loaded down heavy in the back making the front of the car tilt toward the sky. My 07 Corolla has a quad projector retrofit and fog light retrofit. So it has 6 projectors all together. And that one also never glares or blinds. It’s using 4 NHK IV Plus 3” BiLED projectors for the headlights. The second set only comes for high beams. So it runs like a normal single headlight until you hit the high beams and then you have 4 projectors on and shields lowered into highbeam mode. It’s outstanding to drive with. The fogs are diode dynamics 3” pods in the sport level and they’re SAE Wide fog type pods. The combo together is so nice and wide that I can see everywhere I need to without blinding anyone. Ya know aside from hills and crap. If I could count the amount of times I get flashed when I’m driving up a hill towards traffic that happens to be on the lower part of the road at the time, I would be counting for a while. It’s like people don’t understand angles. Like there is almost no way to make headlights not glare at all. There is always going to be certain situations where your headlights will be angled awkwardly enough to shine into someone’s eyes.

@roochiecooch Yah, I agree. I'm planning on installing a lightbar or something because my headlights are bright but I want something to shine farther. Most of my driving is on pitch-black roads. I will install a switch for oncoming traffic, but because of wildlife on the roads I want to see far out.

Most of them are improperly and cheaply done so it ends up blinding others. It's just a small minority that spends money to get it done properly. Saying 'aftermatket' can mean anything from cheap chinese crap or better than OEM level stuff.

No get HID...I upgraded from Osram Halogens to GTR LED and yes they were much brighter but man does the light fall off. Hard af to see in bad weather. Upgraded to 55w HID and i can see for ages. LED I can see being useful for fog lights or tails but not for headlights

If u can find a quality pair of HIDs n you don't mind the cost, fine. But u can get LEDs that just plug in for $17 that are just as bright as ur HIDs.
