How have I not found this channel. Just graduated from fellowship. I wish you had made these videos earlier doc. Amazing education. Thank you

Great video. This may be nuanced and less relevant to this audience, but small, single center trials are not biased because they are small. In fact, smaller sample sizes have wider confidence intervals and are more likely to result in a false negative inference. The issue is that small, single center trials often have more biased methods resulting in the false positive, may be more prone to publication bias, and may select a unique study population that is not generalizable to the population of interest. I just wanted to bring this up, because a trial with a small sample size can be well done and a trial with a large sample size can still have major sources of bias. Each study deserves a critical interpretation of the methods and results!

Yeah, I am not sure what I said in the video, but I agree with you 100% Size and quality and separate issues to consider, but also historically strongly correlated.

Agree with your thoughts. Valuable with patients who cannot be adequately pre oxygenated and denitrogenated, I like to have options

Yeah. It is very easy to be sucked in my anecdotal experience here. DSI has transformed patients who previously were nightmare resuscitations, and now are easy, relaxing intubations. It takes all of my science training to remind me than anecdotes and single center unblinded trials can lead us astray, because otherwise I would agree with Scott that DSI feels like it should just be used routinely.

I forgot how to do RSI since I've been using this technique

I would love to know how many people use this routinely now. I am sure I can run a poll on KZbin, but I haven't figured that out yet
