OMG, these are STUNNING!! I used to stamp a lot, so I just wanted to give you (& everyone) a little tip: you can buy sheets of plexiglass cut to whatever size you want from a hardware store (here I went to Ace Hardware), and really thin is really cheap & works like a dream as a stamp block that makes no marks where you don't want them in clay, as there will be no edge inside of the clay you're stamping on (i.e. 6 x 6 piece of clay, but stamp is in the middle of a 14 x 14 piece of plexi.). I hope this makes sense. My biggest sheet is 16" x 18", and only either 1/8" or 3/16" thick. I love them. I hope this helps anyone who stamps. I'll answer any questions I can if needed, too. Miss Claire, thanks so much for all of the videos and the tips, the inspiration, etc. You are a real treat to watch. You deserve all the best! Happy Creating!!!!

Love that mica powder! Some thoughts - using the metal lid might not be an optimal way to control the stamp as it bends. If you use the acrylic blocks (they are sold in many many different sizes) you can see the image and control the impression. You call them inlays, but they can be thought of as clear stamps. (and there are millions of designs out there). Also cling mounted and wood mounted rubber stamps as well. And while I wouldn't recommend baking the rubber ones with the clay unless they are just rubber (and not mounted on foam). Don't call them "cookie cutters" as that implies that you use them for baking as well. Just call them cutters, and emphasize that once you have used them for polymer clay, they should not be used for baking in the kitchen. I make a clear decision when I buy baking tools (texture, cutters etc) - Kitchen or Craftroom. That also extends to the baking - I use a toaster oven in the craftroom for polymer clay baking. You can salvage the powder that is left over on the craft mat by using translucent polymer clay and rub it all over the mat to pick up all that lovely powder. When baked, the clay will have a lovely glow.

Those powders are fantastic! Mix them very, and mean VERY lightly directly into the resin and you will get the most beautiful glitter look without taking away the transparency.

These inlays are stunning, and even more so with those colours 😍 the bubbles you have in your polymer clay are most likely from the way you are conditioning it in the pasta machine, you need to fold it in half and put the folded side down into the machine every time to try and avoid the bubbles. It takes longer and requires a bit more patience (not my strong suit haha) but makes it much easier at the end, because other than the visible bubbles, sometimes you can get bubbles that you can't see before baking that come out after baking as the air expands in the oven...

Amazon has a UV resin 240G hard type that has a little bit of an odor, but not too bad. I've been using it with some silicone molds.

Just GORGEOUS, Claire! I am always so charmed by how you are never afraid to try something new! Somehow, your magic touch turns what *should* be wacky, crazy, unworkable, a mess...into something gorgeous, inspired, fun, creative, perfect. 💕❤💕 I dunno how you do it, but I'm here for it! 😊👍 ~~~ Speaking of UV "stink"? Yes, do use PPE. However, JDiction UV resin has very little odor at all. Let's Resin also is quite low odor. I have to really watch out for out-gassing, as I have severe asthma, but these don't bother me.
@fairyspunfibers9098 Жыл бұрын
I'd wear the little ones as earrings! 😊
@jaykb6587 Жыл бұрын
Try JDiction UV resin. Low odor, no bubbles, and cures easily. After using a different (and more expensive) UV resin, I found it a few months ago and will never use anything else.
@jodimarie379 Жыл бұрын
I agree about jdiction. I tried a bunch (5 or 6) of different random brands on Amazon, and Jdiction ended up being the best. Most UV resins had some sort sticky residue afterwards that wouldn't go away no matter how long I left under my lamp. I wiped with alcohol too. Then I would leave it outside for a bit in the sun and that would work sometimes. I finally figured that was just how most UV resins were. Then I used Jdiction and almost fell over in shock when it cured with no stickiness. It was also really affordable.

I agree, JDiction makes great UV resin. They now have new low & high viscosity types too.
@carolynmozzone412 Жыл бұрын
That’s all I use😀 they have a high viscosity which is great for doming. They also have eco resin which is wonderful.
@jaykb6587 Жыл бұрын
@@carolynmozzone412 I haven't used that high viscosity yet. Something I need to look into! Thanks.
@jaykb6587 Жыл бұрын
I couldn't agree with more! Anything that was going to take complicated curing I used to wait until summer to do. Sitting it in my window always worked out. But now with JDiction, I don't have to wait. At this point, JDiction is all I use. Both UV and epoxy. Their epoxy has almost zero bubble problems. I don't even go back and check on it like I always had to do with every other epoxy I used. 👍❤️

If your polymer is too hard, add a drop (literally 1 drop at a time) of baby oil. It will soften it up.
@lizjanevski9042 Жыл бұрын
These are stunning - you make me want to get my polymer clay out and do some stuff - with the powder I’ve never used that before but love how it looks..did you cover the pieces with any foil ( create like a little cover over them) suspect no issues with the powder reacting with the heat… Also with UV resin what I do sometimes is pop the pieces outside if it’s a sunny day & cures the pieces beautifully - on really hot sunny day can take 5 /10min to cure & I don’t find it as tacky as if I was to use the UV lamp for some reason…

Just a hint for you. You want to keep rolling the clay until there are no air bubbles in it. I can see air bubbles in your video, some are pretty big.
