Yes that's where the antibiotics come in. The stomach has to be less acidic in order for the antibiotics to target to bacteria better

Protien Pump Inhibitors

Proton pump inhibitors. These are medications that inhibit acid production in the stomach. Examples are Pantaprazole, omeprazole and others… brand names like Nexium, Prilosec and others

PPIs shut off the pumps of the stomach that secrete hydrochloric acid whereas other antacids medications do not shut off the pumps. They just act as a buffer to reduce the amount of hydrochloric acid but not completely.
