You didn’t have a single section of tubing laying around you could use to demonstrate the tool ?

The Fab Forums I’m with John Lanham on this one, and I’d read this entire reply fab forum guy, it may do ya some good. So please take a couple minutes and read it, thanks. I searched the Ol’ KZbin’s for a MAC Tools part number SK17350 which is basically the exact set up as the Lisle, maybe a slight bit different but not much. Got excited when I seen @thefabforums video pop up because this guy does some pretty damn good and cool tool review videos. This one absolutely sucked ballz though. How the hell did we go from introducing the lisle tube stretcher/expander tool to rambling on and on about a harbor freight hydronic knock out punch and a dimple die set up for 10 minutes ??? I wanted to see the Tube expander In action phi and it just sat on the corner of the table the whole time. No explanation or demo on how it works in action.. I mean come on man, you HAD TO KNOW this was an absolute shit video. Seriously lol. You couldn’t demo the tool with that “tons” of tubing laying around? Nobody clicked the video to see the knockout punch OR dimple die set up, those should have been their own videos entirely. I’m not even sure how those two tools took over the tube expander explanation, but they should have never even been on the table. The only things that should have been on that table should have been the tube stretcher/expander, some scrap tubing and an impact gun. That is it!!Instead we got 10 minutes of babbling on and on about some bullshit nobody wanted to see or hear about. And the best part is the fact that there was no demo on a tool that the video was supposed to be about to begin with lol. @The fab forms, this video absolutely sucked and you missed your mark by a mile... and when someone else pointed it out and asked you by saying “you didn’t have a single section of tubing laying. Around you could have used to demonstrate the tool with”? , (which is why everyone clicked on the video) YOU reply, “Tons”. What kinda bullshit answer is that?? I think you need to do a follow up Video to apologize for this major fuck up. And actually do a video doing an actual demo on how this tool works since you have “Tons” of tubing laying around. Maybe try being a little more humble and a lot less arrogant when you get on here and answer peoples questions... your attitude and the way you respond to people can be the difference between having 272,000 Subscribers and having 1 million +... just sayin’.

same as episode 59?!? expand some pipe
@wickedgriptuning76234 жыл бұрын
I agree. This video could have been 8 minutes shorter and actually useful with a simple demo. One piece of pipe, the tool and a 1/2 cordless impact. Stretch a piece of tube, wham bam, this is the tool and why you need it. I don’t know what this ramblethon was all about. I also agree the “yeah tons” response was downright rude.

I tried the Lisle pipe stretcher set with the 15 ton knock out punch set from Amazon you listed. Something has changed because the pipe stretcher uses a 3/4 inch draw stud & the knock out punch uses a 19 mm draw stud. They won't work together without some kind of adaptor!

It's an excellent set. I git mine through my snap-on dealer. Had it for several years now. Never fails. It is helpful to put a little grease on the expanders to keep them from galling.

Hey Voss small tidbit, for high pressure thread applications like that center bolt for the lisle tool, put a dab-a-do of copper antisieze on the threads, not aluminum but copper antisieze. Copper one reduces the prssesure on the threads hence saving the threads. Your pressure will apply to the entire center pull bolt then and not just on its threads. I use copper antisieze on crows foot and 3 jaw pullers. After learning that little trick with antisieze my puller/pusher tools last way longer.

JUST PURCHASED THE SAME HYDROLIC HOLE PUNCHER FROM HARBOR FREIGHT THAT YOU USE IN THE VIDEO. I COMBINED IT WITH THE HF AIR OVER HYDROLIC FOOT PEDAL TO USE SHOP AIR WITH IT INSTEAD OF A HAND PUMP. WORKS PERFECTLY ON THIN WALL STAINLESS PIPE AND 16 GAUGE ALUMINIZED STEEL EXHAUST PIPE. YOU'LL NEED HYDROLIC HOSE THAT CAN HANDLE AT LEAST 40,00 PSI(FOR RAMS OR A LIFT). FITTINGS AT 1/4 IN NPT THREAD TO USE ON PUMP AND EXPANDER RAM. TOTAL GAME CHANGER. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE VIDS.I CAN SEND YOU A VID OF IT IN ACTION IF YOU LIKE

I used the Lisle pipe stretcher kit with the Harbor Freight hydraulic knock out kit to fab my 3" T-304ss dual exhaust on my G8. The tubing was .065 and it had no trouble expanding to fit one inside the other.

Cool to see the tool review again. I have that set along with the add on set for 4 and 5" tube . I use the 5" pretty regularly for heavy truck exhaust and it works good. I use an impact but I grease the crap out of the dies to reduce friction, helps big-time. Pretty cool using the knock out punch cylinder to apply pressure. Might want to check out a 10,000 psi air over hydraulic port-a power pump to run the cylinder. Like you said , turning the dies helps with getting an even expansion joint.

Right on, Mr. Voss!👊😎 I've always been tempted to get that other design, but due to poor reviews online, plus seeing / hearing your dissatisfaction, I held off from making the purchase. This sounds like redemption, especially if you're doing a lightweight aluminum exhaust. One final thought... I've read the comments, most of them are supportive ones, but there will always be that couple that you just can't satisfy. Dude, most of us realize that you don't even have to do this, but we're very grateful that you choose to.🙏 As always, thanks for another glorious video and have a great weekend, brother.👍😁

Cool. I'm gonna have to give that one a try. The only way I could get that first kit you showed to work was by adding some heat.. and the tool did not like that for obvious reasons.. Haha 3 years later.. Anyhoo, Kyle wish I had seen this video back when you ‘published’(🤔) it. Tried to use one of those pipe expanders today it was an almost total fail.. then I stripped the threads… DOH… I didn’t lubricante them in the haste to get things done although I’m not sure that would have worked in preventing this happening… no doubt I didn’t help.. now maybe just going to order a flanged section of pipe to weld into my exhaust.. probably quicker.. I am rubbish at welding to.

This is the 2nd video of yours YT suggested because I am looking at tube stretcher. This is the 2nd video where you dont show the tool working. The tool in your link is 180 bucks but on another video where the guy actually... ya know, stretched a tube had it for 118 bucks. If you are doing tool review videos you should really show the tools in action. If you want people to actually buy from the link then the price should be somewhat competitive.

I will say that this tool kit works great I use it a lot mostly the 3-inch to 3 1/2 inch piece. My only complaint is how messy it gets because you have to keep the thing greased up really well when in use and if you're not wearing gloves oh my God. Then you have to use your impact to run in that bolt and you're getting grease all over your impact gun now.... matter of fact I hate this tool kit haha
