Fun Fact: Prey was a song that got cut from the mod because one of the developers left the team and requested all his work to be removed. And since he wrote the story in Prey and was the owner of Furnace, the robot Sonic in the song, they removed it. and Fight or Flight was the song that would have replaced Prey. But I am really happy that both are playable, even if the mod is sadly canceled.

For context: The red eggman guy is based off a creepypasta called Starved Eggman. To summarize, Eggman found a dead mobian (might be saying this wrong) and ate it because it happened to be burnt from a explosion. Eggman was infatuated with the taste and began to change into insanity. He wanted to eat these forever so he made and modified his robots to have fire based weaponry to cook the mobians so he can eat them. As time passes he lost all his hair and his skin turned red with him smelling horrible (which is maybe why Tails is wearing a gas mask). Starved and aonic was battling until Furnace (the robot sonic chasing you in the beginning of "Prey") set a trap and cooked and killed sonic and Fight or Flight takes place where Tails fights Eggman. This only main difference between this eggman and the others is that this one just loves Mobians and is partially insane. He is the same personally and skills as Eggman. The next one is coldsteel. Fairly simple Coldsteel is a edge sonic oc where people aren't sure if the oc is genuine or a joke ripping on sonic ocs. Needlemouse is from a analog series. You should just watch it but to get a run down. Needlemouse is possessed by a woman named Sarah and she uses the three characters from Sonic.exs story as a way to torture her friends. Basically her friends souls are forcibly trapped by Sarah

It’s so sad the mod was canceled, but it’s completely understandable. The team was extremely stress trying to meet deadlines, drama around the creator of faker/black sun, and the leaks so many leaks. There was also a lot of personal stuff happening to the creator, which everyone just gave them shit over. The community went too far, from @ing the team daily for when the mod was coming out, sending de@th threats, and doxing the team. That part of the community that took part of this should be ashamed of themselves, the fnf community wouldn’t be so big if it wasn’t due to this mod. I applaud the team for what we were able to get and thank them for all their hard work. Please go show them your support!

They changed engines for 2.5 so not only did the team have to add more and improve on everything but they also had to port over what was lost for initial testing, because of that numerous cutscenes are missing, the camera doesn't start in the correct position, some effects are completely missing yada yada... Impressive what they did get done for this build regardless, I wish them the best moving forward.

Not sure if anyone brought it up yet, but there is actually one more song they did add into this build shortly after its initial release called, "Fatality" which featured the EXE Fatal Error, a computer virus that tore apart a Sonic 3 and Knuckles ROM on some random computer and made it his own world. His design is badass and the song is incredibly. Id highly recommend looking into it if you ever find the time

one thing you got to respect is how much love and care the devs put into each character. like just look at the three shitpost songs: sunky got a total rework, making him look actually so well done and his animation looks more...realistic and bouncy. every layer of the song is full of refrences. it splatters milk instead of blood...it really didn't need to go so far for sunky of all characters lmao. and his song is so much better then before(though i miss the other refrences to different songs) sanic: q: how do you change an iconic perfect image? a: you don't. q:how do you turn sanic into exe sanic? a:give him guns, weed, and bloodshot eyes q: how do you make a banger sanic song? a: instead of bleeding out players ears, fill the song with other refrences and jokes sanic is known for and go full throttle by dropping the beat to MLG clips, which although are unrelated, were for some odd reason, linked together probably because both were released around the same time. coldsteel: a complete oxymoron. his poses are complete garbage, but so fluid and funny it actually works, the song is LITERALLY full of cringy talk and completely loses any form of cohesion by the middle...but they somehow came up with a great voice for coldsteel and the main theme is so catchy you can actually enjoy the wacky insanity halfway through because you KNOW that bangers coming back. three shitpost songs that shouldve just been afterthoughts for a joke...got so much love put into them. its why i love this mod, you can just FEEL the passion and love they have for sonic.exe and co.

After playing this unfinished build i think i can conclude that all 3.0 needed was songs for starved needlemouse and the virus thing and Encore version of 2.0 songs. That would have put this mod in the top mods of fnf like indie cross and hotline. But the devs wanted to make it too big and it turned into a slog to work on. Goodbye sonic exe you were an excellent mod.

And I agree with your final statements this is one best mods even if it is unfinished and I respect the teams decision to shelve the project because of everything that had happened. The work they had put in really showed their passion for the project and if in the future they ever decide to work on it again, then that would be a blast. But whatever the case may be, this mod team is one of the best modding teams in the community. For now, I hope they can rest and take it easy. So for Fight or Flight, you have to FC the song to get through it. Starved adds to the FEAR meter when he sings. When Tails songs, he decreases the meter, but by less than Starved does. If he misses, he adds to the counter. What you get is a song you must full combo.

You don't need to fc the whole song, it just becomes a bother once you miss enough or the song progresses enough. You'd only have to make sure your first few notes every turn isn't a miss because you can barely recover health. It's a lot more forgiving compared to black sun because there if you miss a few set of notes in the beginning then you're basically done.

Fun fact: theres a shitton of content in the files that arent in the game because y'know, unfinished. sprites, backgrounds, transformations, whole songs etc a person which i dont remember has basically grabbed those assets and basically "finished" the unfinished build you should look for it because if i were to guess, the build in the video would be like 50% done, the "finished" build would add atleast 30%, the remaining % is stuff that arent in the files and are unuseable (Ex: full triple trouble encore etc) I really recommend you check it out even if you're not making a video out of it.

Useless facts but : The jump scares you saw on Triple Trouble (and you were wondering if they were here before) WERE here before, but in this unfinished build, they placed more of them… and if anyone didn’t see but the YCR Sonic.EXE (after passing in the 16-bits) had different sprites as well as him having special animations for the « GRAUUUUGGHH » and « JUST DIE ! » moments + within the files having proper new sprites for the 16-bits part of YCR but for some reason they used the old one... The Ring placement is different in TT but idk if it’s the same amount or not… and they ported the game into a different engine so that’s why we have new and disabled features (they were trying to port them)…

Fun fact: The character in the first half of prey is Furnace Sonic. 2nd half of the song is starved eggman. a entity in which he created Furnace and ordered to kill sonic so he can eat him

I grew up with Sonic Colors, so it’s definitely my favorite sonic game. It wasn’t peak in any way but every aspect from detail to song gives me hella nostalgia. Also, there was a 4th song planned after Triple Trouble, so likely xenophanes was supposed to have an angry spritesheet for the final part before transitioning into said 4th song.

The black metal sonic in prey is actually named furnace, he was built/upgraded to cook animals for eggman (or in this case starved eggman) hence the name Furnace, starved eggman has already killed and eaten most sonic characters like Amy, mighty, ray etc. With the only survivor able to stop eggman being tails.
