You need to see where we parked last night!!! (Chamonix Mont Blanc)
When it comes to finding spots to park our van in, we're always on the lookout for something a little different to what everybody else is doing. This spot we found was simply awesome and so much better than parking in one of those old fashioned campsites. After arriving in Chamonix on the French Alps, we decided it wasn't the kind of place where we wanted to stay for very long so moved on and found this spot just outside the town with Mont Blanc towering over it, we parked up for the night and woke up to this! Spectacular!

"Travel with Gary and Amika"
Welcome to the Official Travel with Gary and Amika KZbin Channel, a father daughter combo capturing campervan style travel vlogs in and around the mountains, beaches, campsites and wild camping fully off grid.
Gary is dedicated to his daughters future and enjoys documenting her passion for life, which is apparent through Amikas constant giggling and smiles. He is well travelled having visited some 39 countries, however this quickly became difficult to continue when Amika was born. With his love for travel he wasnt going to let being a single father tie him down. When Amika was just 5 they jumped on a plane and backpacked around Romania and have since visited France and Spain twice exploring the Pyrenees mountain range.
In January 2022 Gary bought on old builders van and converted into a fully off grid tiny home on wheels with the aim of getting out and about as much as possible to see more of the world. KZbin seemed the perfect way to documented these travels and to take a step into the world of becoming a digital nomad.
Gary and Amika both thank you for being here and hope that through their videos they can bring you a sense of adventure, a lots of laughter and with a clear message that you should never grow up and never take life too seriously!

Ohh Gary. You trafelled to my most favorite airia in Europe. Chamonix and the pass to Switserland is indeed truly amazing. I went up the Mountain at Le Brevent. Where you parked your van. It is the best viewing point to the Mont Blanc. I hope you will pass my most favorite town Kandersteg in Switserland. In Kandersteg you can go on the Sunnbuel kabelcart. 19:09 wait, I know this landscape. that's a view over Martigny. was the lake you wanted to access Emosson perhaps? I stayed there for a few nights a few years back. it was in September, very quiet, big parking, lovely place. Magnificent dam. Although, I doubt that's where you were headed as I think there is a hydroelectric power station so I'd expect they'd maintain the access. I'm planning on going to the Alps mid May, fingers crossed all goes to plan. Such a jolly kid you've got there. That's a solid bond you're creating with her by doing all this together and that should pay off in your future relationship with her 👍 [edit] looking at google maps, the access road to lake Emosson is indeed closed so now I'm 99% sure that's where you were going. Such a shame, you'd absolutely love to stay there! It's a down side of traveling Alps before summer when so many mountain roads are closes. being in the area, I'd suggest you taking the Grand Saint Bernard pass from Switzerland to Italy but that's also closed.

How is the tune up on the van? Does it drive better and what's the MPG better or worse ?

It was turned for better mpg. I've gone from 26/27 mpg to 31mpg, and I'm driving through the alps up and down moubtiqn passes. I expect this will be 34-36 when I'm on my normal routes. Huge difference
