This is pretty cool, I haven't used next that much and wasn't sure the link tag would work like this. Thanks for explaining.

This is a awesome build up to RSCs and why they exist . The community is doing a better job at explaining things than the react or next team , can't recommend Ryan's stream enough too , he not only explored react server components but all the other approaches even how things like qwik and Astro stack up , very knowledgeable fella

Great video Christopher! Even got me with the Angular logo in the thumbnail 🎯

That's what exactly I was looking for. Thanks! One question, I don't see any 'use client' directive on your code and useState is supposed to be used only under 'use client' as far as I know. How did you do that?

I think at the time of making the video , next wasnt using react server components .

Yes, this video was about Pages directory, which doesn't have Server Components. The new model is more complicated, I'm not quite sure what to call it.

Is there any difference between SSR and RSC?
@TechBuddy_ Жыл бұрын
Yes SSR runs first on the server and then hydrate on client but RSCs are server components so they run only on the server
@harshilparmar9076 Жыл бұрын
@@TechBuddy_ But still RSC going to hydrate on client side right?
@TechBuddy_ Жыл бұрын
@@harshilparmar9076 no they will not be hydrated on the client. They only run on the server and send the rendered template back. This means for example you can use large node libraries in your components but not ship that in your js bundle. If you use SSR the library will be shipped to the client
