This is the type of upgrade I want to get for my Weiltmeister Diana 120. Allodi accordions is the only place in the UK and I still need mine servicing before I could even consider MIDI as its quite expensive. Internal mic would be nice also...

Hi - Maybe you don't know but I repair accordions and also fit MusicTech mic systems - mostly for The Accordion Shop in Sunningdale and Rochdale but also privately. Last year I visited MusicTech in Italy and had some training to fit their MIDI system but I am yet to do my first one. If you want to know more feel free to contact me direct or phone me for a chat! - details are on my website www.georgewhitfield.co.uk

Absolutely awesome! I really enjoyed watching and listening! You have a great set-up, too! I've always wondered if a Roland VK-8m would work well in an accordion application.

Hi - I just watched your version of Yeterday - great use of the Roland Strings. I'd like a Roland because they have velocity sensitivity which my MIDI system lacks - it has a bellows sensor but for piano type sounds you need the touch thing! However - I also love the mix of real reeds and MIDI and the Roland has no reeds ..... Anyway I love the VK8m because it's not velovity sensitive either, and naturally splits into 3 MIDI chanels. You get to hear it better on my song "Bluebox" kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppbOgoyNeZ6kbac

@@georgeaccordion Thank you! I don't really understand much about how MIDI works. I just keep playing around with the sounds until I hear something that sounds good to me. I really like what I hear you doing when you mix the reeds and the electronics!

I have no idea what a MIDI accordion is. I know about the Rolands, but this doesn’t sound like that, it sounds as if it might be an ordinary accordion with some kind of pick ups that transmit a MIDI signal which can trigger a sound module to double the sound of notes played on the acoustic instrument with electronic patches. It that close?

Hi Matt - Yes, well described! It is a standard accordion so you can hear the reeds, but it also has MIDI so I have keyboard sounds as well. The keyboard sounds are coming from the speaker behind me so the whole thing whole thing is recorded on the 2 mics you can see in front of me.
