Walnut Canyon Trail
Experience the gorgeous Sonoran Desert with red buttes towering over on this fun ride. There are many hiking trails to the north in White Canyon Wilderness, and the Gila River to the south. Battle Axe Road has space for staging, and this area is common for unlicensed vehicles. You will cross State Trust Land for a short bit, so make sure to carry a permit.
Difficulty
Moderate: Winding, rutted road with steep climbs and descents. Much of the trail follows low-lying sandy washes. Toughest part is a long, steep downhill stretch between Waypoints 05 and 06. After a heavy rain, this section can become rutted and washed out.

Walnut Canyon is another gem of a trail! I saw one of the thickest saguaro forests in the state, along that trail.

That van and trailer had no business being on that trail. Just my $0.02. But man what a great day on the trail! Views were fantastic and your drone shots really make the video more dynamic. @@shawnking6270 Jeeps, Broncos, 4 Runners.... I like anything with 4wd! All very different vehicles and all have their strengths and weaknesses. Wranglers are better crawlers although the Bronco handles the rocks just fine, but the Broncos are the desert runners. We usually have to wait up for the Jeeps running the trails, but they definitely have better articulation due to the solid axle. The bad part about solid axle is how crazy bumpy they are. I was going to get a Rubicon until they revealed the Bronco was coming back. Competition is good for all of us though... we will all just get much better rigs in the future because of it.

@@shawnking6270 and yes shoot me a message sometime if you plan on heading out somewhere. I won't do extreme stuff yet as it's my daily driver and still paying on it. Trails like Terminator I'll do once I beef up the suspension a tad and get it paid off. I'd kick myself if I destroyed my baby at this point 😂

I've ran this trail a few times. You can get to the coke ovens from this trail. This trail kept me on my toes because of the wash out on the left side of the loop. Going up is easier than going down since you slide and can get rolled over in the deep ruts on a UTV
