Thank you for showcasing Missouri’s many wonderful trout-filled streams and rivers. Except for my time in the Army, southern Missouri has always been my home. I love all of the fishing opportunities that it offers.

My official home waters is Boathouse Lake in Carondelet Park. Now, Joachim Creek I Festus, MO. Never fished the Pineys, but have crossed them many times. Maybe this summer or fall.

Mike, I went to school in Rolla 50 years ago. I fished the Little Piney then. I Still do and love it. I have two videos on my channel that feature the Little Piney. Your video is great, and I love to see how you do on the holes that I know. Unlike you, I don't have the self control to go to a dry dropper when thy are surfacing. I always go to a dry, probably dumb, but I just cant help it. Thanks for the video, I loved it.

Coming from Appalachia and now living in Missouri, this is by far my favorite place in the state to fish and camp. First place I really started to feel like I could call Missouri home.

I truly get that feeling in the Delores/Cortez area. I began fly fishing with a friend of my father's in that area and just love going back. Kind of feels like going back in time and the enthusiasm of a small boy fishing the main river and the tributaries.

That was an impressive hatch. It looked like a caddis hatch with the fish launching themselves out of the water and the other rise-forms looked like they were taking emergers. I’ve done really well swinging a softhackle through the risers. I’ve been thinking skating a caddis pattern through them and see what happens. I grew up in Syracuse, NY so the streams of central Nee York are my home waters but I never fly fished in them. I live Chicago now and my home waters are in Wisconsin and Iowa.
@FLYALLSZN2 жыл бұрын
That might be on my “to do” list next time I make it to the piney! Swinging soft hackle is so much fun! NY sounds really cool but I’ve got a big spot in my heart for the driftless!

Bro, you are on MY home waters! This is where i always stop first when on my way to the upper current. I feel the same way about it. Ive never had to use anything but a single dryfly, pmd and caddis. Fish on

@16:20 I pulled 25 fish out of that hole off Griffith gnats and BWOS parachutes…. My buddy and I took a break to eat lunch, typical peanut butter sandwich. Saw them rising and went for it. 25 for me off the Griffith till I had to retire. That was late November, love little piney

@@FLYALLSZN that's crazy man they must eat a lot of crawfish or something that turns their coloration different than the rest but I have definitely seen some fish that would blow your mind because the species is not what it looks like congratulations they're beautiful trout. Do you have a go-to fly when you go out or do you just throw like Prince and San Juan worms
