The real reason that this has come in was the widely reported issues of electoral fraud in tower hamlets mainly by immigrants from Bangladesh and Pakistan. Due to this the whole country now has to show ID instead of working on trust as it has for the last 200 years. what's the point of having voter id when you can either vote by post or anonymously, I thought the whole idea was are you actually the person voting
