I was on the pill for 4 years and have been off the pill for a month. You're videos have been so helpful. So far my first "period" if i can call it that has been a little weird so i need constant reassurance that this happens and it's normal 😂

Great video, I shared a video about my experience with MIRENA IUD, and it's amazing how birth control can throw your hormones off so much. I had a hard time getting back on track. Bt as you said tracking your cycle and ovulation helps alottttttt. Plus there's seeding to get your cycle back on track .

Yes they contain horrible side effects. Mood swings etc .research online. Catholic nfp is the way to go. Good stats on not getting pregnant from it either. Without the hormone crap

How do we track our cycle if we aren't getting a period with an iud and it's not going to come back for a while?
@OliveB69

Charting can actually help you get an idea of when your period will return :) Just start taking your waking basal body temp and tracking cervical fluid and you'll know when you ovulate. Once you know you ovulated you'll know your period is on its way soon. Its usually 11-14 days after you ovulate but my first cycle off of hormonal birth control it took me 104 days to ovulate and then only 5 days after that my period started. If you haven't read Taking Charge of Your Fertility I HIGHLY recommend it! It will teach you everything you need to know :) Good luck!

Two questions: First, I’m on Mirena and I love not having my period because I have horrendous periods where I literally miss work each month because I can’t manage the cramps and the flow. Is there a natural way to cure/manage that? I’d love to get off birth control but the trade off doesn’t seem worth it. Second, my work schedule is very different day to day. Can you chart even if you sleep, eat etc different each day?

Hey Victoria! Off topic, may I ask a question about the period cup?... well, I was just wondering as a virgin, only having had a tampon size thing up there, the cup seems really really big. Fills a lot. Thick. I don’t know the word! I’m not English 😄 just, won’t it *feel* like something pressing or just too much inside? Just scared. Coming from a girl who also only recently started tampons.

It's really not any different than a tampon. I know it looks bigger, but once you fold it up to insert it's the same size as a tampon. Period products are usually pretty universal regardless of whether you've had sex or not.

I started using the menstrual cup when I was quite young and highly recommend it! It quickly becomes very comfortable and doesn't feel too large

I actually had normal cycles when I first ditched the pill and now exactly a year after my cycles started going crazy long, is it normal or should I consider consulting a doctor? I also have Hashimotos so basically it can be one of the symptoms but why did I have regular cycles right after going off the pill and couple of months ago and now I don't? :(

@@czolg2014 my periods have always been that long. I have never ever been on the pill, and when I was much younger my periods were more irregular, but for the last few years they have stabilized around 32-35 days. I have even had 40day periods when I was in stressful situations in life... I am now 26 years old, never been pregnant, never had any hormonal issues, and have had an active sex life for years. It is true that having longer periods makes you be scared about unwanted pregnancies a little more, but that's about it. I use condoms so that is not really a trouble for my mind. I say you shouldn't consider your situation a problem for now; if your periods were two months long then yes definitelly ask a doctor, but just a few days longer is totally normal, if you are more or less regular. Even if you skipped a period once, and checked that you're not pregnant, it wouldn't be considered a problem. At least from the experience of people close to mine, doctors only took action when they had been five months or so without the period. In that case, the absence of periods was because of an eating disorder, so if you are maybe worried about some other changes in your lifestyle apart from ditching the pill, like an excess of work or lack of sleep or whatever, then yes, definitelly ask a doctor. Otherwise, you can wait a little before worrying. Sorry for the long post, hope it helps someone.
