I'm not sure folks understand the stakes here. Carbs, especially refined carbs, are not food. They are an addictive drug. Don't believe me? Ask someone to give up sugar for a month and watch them act just like any other type of addict. Ask someone to give up a meat they like for a month and you will get a normal, rational answer. Chicken is food. Sugar is not. The turning point for me was when I realized I was a carb addict. That was two years ago. I even keep "sobriety" tokens on my keychain. I now eat grains maybe once a week, sometimes twice, never ever sugar, maybe a good coffee ice cream once a year. Plus IF, of course!

The Keto made simple masterclass has changed my life! For anyone who really wants to do “keto” right sign up for the class and if that’s not an option for you, buy Dr Westman’s page 4. His way is the way to success! I know because I’m living proof and I used to be in the net carb world and it doesn’t work half as well as total. Stop the insanity and keep it simple! Thank you Dr Westman & Glen for another fantastic video. 😊

I use almond flour, but is is expensive, so for special occasion things. Christmas, birthdays, etc. I am low carb, not keto. Works for me. I make cloud bread a lot. No flour involved. You can add grated cheese before baking or brush with butter and garlic afterwards.

I eat a very clean keto lifestyle "not diet, it's not a diet" my one daily treat is a little heavy cream in my coffee and a couple squares of 90% dark chocolate and it works very well for me. Completely reverse my insulin resistance.

I think now with all the keto snacks, we really have to even separate candy bar/ almond flour net carbs vs cabbage, broccoli, lettuce, cauliflower, etc net carbs. I read an article by some guy who did "keto for week", ate eggs and meat for 2 days, then spent 5 days eating keto candy bars & snacks. Surprise, he concluded that keto doesn't work.

Hi there! Following your page 4 perfectly and I find it very easy to follow. Unfortunately had my blood work done and my LDL is at 413! HDL @ 113 and trig @ 65. Getting a nmr test and meeting with a lipid specialist.I’m 4’10 weight 89 lbs. athletic and pre menopausal.Now I’m afraid of eating the wrong things.

Look at Nadir Mir Ali for information on LDL. Trig/HDL is another risk indicator and yours is less than one which is very good. I hope your nmr result is good.

It can also be impacted by the types of fats you are having. If you have a specific genetic expression of APOE4 then your ability to metabolize saturated fat is different. Fibre intake and increasing your cruciferous vegetables can help. Nutritionfacts.org has some good info on cholesterol, video-wise Dr Berg, Dr Hyman, Dr Axe, Dr Jocker and Dr Aseem have some useful info and free guides

My goal weight is 65kg. Weighed 90kg. I was on LCHF 6 months, lost nothing. Dropped amount of veggies I ate, as well as cheese, lost 8kg very quickly. Now 82kg and have plateaued again for 6 weeks. On 20g carb a day but not losing. Could it be the cream in my coffee?

I have had Atrial Fib on and off for 2yrs. Went on keto and on day 3 I noticed I was having SIGNIFIGANT reduction in my time in A-fib. Day 4 I realized I had not gone into A-fib the whole day. I have now been on Keto for 3 months, not a single bout of fib since that third day. I have lost 25lbs and feel like I am eating more food and less hungry than I have ever been. I did have 'keto-flu' for about 5 days that I would not wish on anyone, but it was WORTH IT.

It must be well understood eating carbs will block fat burning. It may be very little. A slice of bread or a banana will surely do it. Some people just dont get that.

I WISH I was in danger doing keto while taking blood pressure & diabetes medications!!! Almost 8 months in AND BLOOD PRESSURE, BLOOD GLUCOSE & INSULIN STILL HIGH. Triglycerides have gone down a bit. Haven't been perfect but almost every day keep total carbs under 10. Most days, one meal a day, two at most. STILL WAITING FOR THE MIRACLE.
@patrickh7093 жыл бұрын
If after 8 months of strict keto your insulin is still high, then there might be something else going on inside your body. I'm over 62 years old and when I consistently keep my total carbs under 20 grams per day, my blood glucose is usually in the mid 80s and my ketones are somewhere around 3 or 4.

Sorry but I must say I disagree on this particular video’s topic. I think there is loads of very good info out there for free on KZbin. I don’t think we should scare people from trying keto by themselves. People don’t need to ‘be on a plan’ but they need to use the keto approach as a lifestyle. People don’t stick to plans they need to just incorporate keto principles into their normal lives. And saying that net carbs is doing keto wrong I just don’t get that. If people lose weight and are reversing their health issues counting net carbs there’s nothing wrong with this net carb approach. Please let’s not scare anyone from becoming healthier...
@MsTony14023 жыл бұрын
@NOTREALLY HANKAARON I don’t sell anything and I have never bought any packaged product that had the word keto on it. I have however lost 90 pounds and reversed my diabetes and high blood pressure with a net carb approach eating real food. All I’m saying is keto isn’t rocket science and most people will be able to learn the main principles by watching free KZbin videos
@patrickh7093 жыл бұрын
Using the total carb approach is simple and more straightforward than using net carbs. Net carbs factor in fiber, however, there are two types of fiber, soluble and insoluble. The labels on food do not differentiate the two. So, you could be consuming more carbs than you realize.
@MsTony14023 жыл бұрын
@@patrickh709 I use the My Fitness Pal app and it let’s you chose net or total carbs so it is both equally simple. In terms of carb limits 20g is just something they’ve come up with; everyone’s personal carb limit will be slightly different and individual. So one will know very quickly if their approach/carb consumption is working for them. I don’t want to have any arguments as all I was saying is that as a low carb/keto community we should not give newcomers the impression that this lifestyle is very difficult and something they will need constant medical support
@granny583 жыл бұрын
You didn't listen.

Only meant that people on blood pressure meds, or especially insulin HAVE to have medical supervision. This is extremely serious. Someone could go into a diabetic coma if they do strict keto without first dripping the insulin by a large amount. It's life threatening
