I respect Hinamori and I'm sad about the character... I hate Aizen he is an abusive coward, he had sex with Hinamori, and mentally abused her for 40 years all Aizen does is see her as his property, he always wants killing her after she discarded it makes Toshiro stab her and she is the victim the whole time. Tite Kubo is an idiot. She suffered all types of violence against women between these two men. I think she would have liked to have died at the hands of one of them and felt their pain and sadness.

Yama can’t really help bc his powers are too destructive. Shikai alone could probably destroy the planet environmentally let alone bankai. Aizen’s hypnosis doesn’t allow Yama to use a lot of power so he has to be careful to not only not destroy Karakura town but possibly harm the entire planet which is there whole purpose of protecting.

In the manga when he said "You're full of openings", the next panel literally showed he has already cut down all the captains. Anime tried to extend it but it took away the impact of the moment IMO.

Hinamori was the perfect tool (😓) for him to demoralize everyone in this battle, and easily get rid of Toshiro. Yamamoto, it seems to me, did not join the battle, because he can't fight at full strength, otherwise everyone will burn. And probably he also understands perfectly well that in the chaos it will be more difficult to do something with Kyōka Suigetsu.
