What a great review and a great Resort too. I will definitely stay there. Sunset Plaza Resort - like you said its a Hidden GEM. The Bedroom looks so nice and clean and the pool view is superb. So close to the beach

Haven't been to Puerto Vallarta yet but, this resort is really making me want to go. Nice gym, gotta get that early sweat in. Wow the view from the room. Oh food talk to me. That's what I loved about the Hilton Playa. Epic looking pool. What a glorious resort

Wow the construction there is massive - looks like the resort is going to double in size. Any word on if they will be adding more restaurants and bars in that area to accommodate more guests? I'm actually interested based on the fact that there's no buffet except for that BBQ buffet. I'm not a buffet fan usually. I love resorts that take towels and stuff off chairs that are reserved - only chairs in use should be "reserved".

Hi The Average Tourist! Yes - the current total size is approx. 100 rooms, and the extension will not quite double that as they are adding a couple of 2nd level pools. They did say that they will be adding 2 restaurants - it will be interesting to see. I'm not a buffet fan either, except for breakfast but a la carte was quite do-able here once I realized I could ask for a half-portion. I didn't actually see staff removing towels - it was more that the guests that were there respected each other enough to remove their towels when they would leave. Quite civilized actually! Hi Heather! WOW that’s great! My friend’s also heading there next weekend, so lots of people are trying this place out. If you’re looking for an activity to do while you’re there, I highly recommend the ChocoMuseo chocolate truffle making class. It was so informative and we got to keep all the chocolates we made! Hi Heather! The resort is older and the rooms were good but could use some updating. I would definitely opt for a suite next time, as those had better indoor sitting areas and an even bigger balcony. Lots of stuff nearby, with shops right outside of the resort and plenty of restaurants. The food at the resort was good and the drink options in the all-inclusive program were good. Overall, I was impressed by this resort and it comes in at a very good price point, so you can't go wrong. Thanks for watching!

@@heathertucker8479 Happy to help! When we stayed there, we walked downtown to the Malecon 2 or 3 times and walked to the marina for the night market that I didn't realize was closed for summer. If you don't mind putting some steps in, it's a great location - alternatively, taxi's or Uber are the way to go.
