Thanks for this. I'm neck-deep in version 4 of my tcg design and just about to launch into a new prototype wave next year. These videos have helped a lot to smoothen out the rough edges in my thinking. Also, big ups on reminding how useful notes can be. I take notes during playtest sessions all the time, it's everything!

I have never been so attracted to the presenter of a video on game design.

"But what resources does Yu-Gi-Oh use?" "Your wallet." Great video, the player profiles really helped me get a firm idea on who i'm making my game for.

A lot of new designers write off their audience as themself but that can never be the case because you the designer have more knowledge about your game than others so it can be easy to mistake something as “easy to understand” when it really isn’t

that's a great point about simplicity in game design. Your rules are always more complicated that you think.

I can't decide who's a bigger star in these videos: Clint or the Llama poster?

I wasn’t planning on making a TCG and now I am. I just quit my job bc I’m so hyped up.

Well if it's a solo game or you don't care if others like it, then cool!
