Yes sir. Gotta get out there. Experiencing the outdoors is so much better than watching it on tv.

Great message for us all to hear. Over the past year I have watched all of your videos and decided a few weeks ago to buy a 2023 4Runner TRD Off Road. I'm 70 years old, live in Michigan, and enjoy good health. So I decided to get out there and enjoy the great outdoors. However, I will not be wandering too far off the beaten path. I have made no changes so far to my vehicle but do plan to sleep inside it. When watching your videos I always have an interest on the equipment you use and how it's organized.

I love hearing that you are going to get out and enjoy the great outdoors, hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I do plan on some videos that go over the gear I use coming soon.

What a great message Noah. Finally had my SPC UCAs installed today. I'm now working on sanding, priming and painting my rock sliders. I think I'll send you a pic.

Yes, send me a pic Dale.

Very well said, Noah. Know that you are an inspiration to many more than the appreciative that have commented here. Always enjoy your videos and your efforts you put into their content.

Thank you so much for this message. Yes, I am in the same boat now as you were 4 years ago. In my early 50s and still in my comfort zone and videos like this firing me up to get out and haven’t done that yet. Moved to the USA last December, to explore nature and travel around the world. For the same reason as you mentioned, I got my 2023 4Runner a couple of months ago and she is still in stock condition with no modification whatsoever for camping. I live near Washington DC, trying to dig the internet to see the areas around for venturing out during the day time (to start at least). The last thing I want is to use the 4runner just as a mall hauler. Really envy my friend who lives in Denver and I enjoy seeing his weekend adventures in his Lexus GX. Your videos are very inspiration and making me want to just get out and have fun. Happy to say hi to you when I visit Denver :-)

Great video. I’m jealous of where you live. I live in one of the most boring parts of Canada. Trust me- there’s no good place to camp within a 10 hour drive.

Thank you, glad you liked the video. That's a shame that you don't have anything closer to you.

Grumpy Gobbler! For some reason I was not getting notifications for new vids from you but I was subscribed. Anyway, glad you're still on the "air". Great video as usual and great message. I am slightly younger than you by only 6 - 7 years and the older I get the more I find I need to get out and up here in CO! Couldn't agree more, especially about the "don't camp near me" part...hahaha. And yes folks, out here you can be sitting outside in the snow in a short sleeve shirt. If the sun is out and the wind isn't blowing it's almost always warm so get out and enjoy even if it's just for a hike!

Yep, still on the air Darren. KZbin is certainly strange, I've had the same thing happen with other channels.

Great advisor man. I've got a similar story of yours, and same age. Three years ago started to camping in a car (build a bed insise) for the first time in my life and just loved this overland life. My country is huge and has a lot of beautiful remote places to visit. I am a new guy now🎉
@TheGrumpyGobbler Жыл бұрын
We are certainly luck to live in places with a lot of remote places to camp.

I'm doing really good since getting my 4Runner good enough to get out. Your inspiration is incredible. I'm hoping one day we can meet up so I can see your setup in person and you can critique mine and give me tips. Now winter is upon us and I'm wondering how you deal with the extreme cold while sleeping in your 4Runner here in Colorado. I sleep in mine too, so I'm wondering if I should go towards the propane heaters or electric? I'm leaning towards electric with a battery pack so I don't drain my 4Runner battery. Thanks for any feedback.
@TheGrumpyGobbler Жыл бұрын
Forgive me if I've asked you before, but where in the Country are you? Yes, it would be cool to show you my setup in person and see yours. As far as heat goes, I don't run a propane or electric heater in my 4Runner when camping, it seems to stay at about 32 degrees inside which I am comfortable with. I have a -20 sleeping bag which keeps me warm. If it gets too cold, I remote start the 4Runner. I do typically remote start the 4Runner in the morning to take the edge off before getting out of the sleeping bag. I'm going out to camp in a few hours and it will be cold tonight, so I should probably film a segment on how I keep warm in the winter.

Just saw that you are local in Colorado and are probably pretty close to Woodland Park. We could meet somewhere near there this winter (I know some spots if you want to camp)
