I was at a conference years ago where one of the speakers was a billionaire. I don't remember his name, but his advice was don't be afraid of letting negative emotions fuel you. Everything he accomplished was out of spite, including graduating college. His mother in law, or someone, thought he'd drop out. He said spite isn't the socially acceptable trick to admit to, but it is more powerful than the positive emotions. If someone tries to forgive people and be a peacemaker, instead of holding grudges, they are throwing away leverage that could help them reach hard goals. Further, if there are times when you don't necessarily feel angered by someone, but could get angry if you were to dwell on what they said/did, you should dwell if that will help propel you on your path. Spite is something you can try to create whenever possible. He wasn't advocating being hateful. He still treats ppl politely. But in his head, he keeps grudges and it pushes him harder than anything else could. Being spiteful toward people isn't MY style, it feels toxic to my soul, but I can definitely get spiteful at parts of my brain that are sabotaging me with their bad habits, and I can change to difficult good habits the most reliably when my biggest reason isn't for health or other positive sounding benefits, but just to cause the "sabotaging/ bad habit" part of my brain to suffer, absolutely fed up with its manipulations of me.

I certainly agree with this assessment in full. I've been "trying" to do this for 8 years, even some within the bounds of college. What I was missing was accountabability to finish. A lot of things have changed over the last decade and even just the last few years, giving more incentive to succeed vs just endlessly flailing about. I know now that I will learn this, the bare minimum at least. The unknown is if I will be job ready. But I was never "job ready" in my past industries either. Just hoping for another chance.

Sorry This time (and not only) you're being repetitive. Same old topic: learning web development is hard, you can do it, but you must keep doing it, and now you've added "if you quit, you won't make it, it's hard, you'll give up, you won't make it". I also quit smoking almost 7 years ago and it was actually easy. So easy that i regret not trying it before. Unfortunately I've got to unsubscribe, this is probably one the most disappointing videos I didn't need. I've watched your channel grow, but this is not what I need for my head space as someone who's trying to learn, and it's contradictory to drop a truth bomb when you still have aspiring coders/software developers. While I understand honesty is a golden gift for folks who value their time, if I'm already invested into doing something, why express NOW of ALL times that "you're probably not going to make it", and then expect the individual to be enthralled with the news. Sorry, but this video has left me complacent.

@@streamx2 Your argument is weak. You're attacking the channel more than the argument stated in this video, which by the way is not wrong in any way. You assume that the best way to go about a new venture is by listening to nothing but good things rather than getting a balanced outlook on the situation. That's naive. There are plenty of videos/channels that tout nothing but sunshine & rainbows when it comes to becoming a dev. It's refreshing to hear from someone that has a practical take. Also, if someone makes you feel a certain way it's not their fault, it's yours. No one can think your thoughts but you.

I'll be honest here. I saw a video of him trying to answer a few basic CSS questions on a job application (if I recalled correctly). The questions were very basic CSS flexbox questions. He was totally stumped, which told me all I needed to know about his level of expertise. I've also seen his person site, and the quality of the work wasn't very professional. At least not at a standard that I would hire for front end work. That being said, I'm glad to see he's passionate about what he's doing, but people need to take what he says with a grain of salt.
