One of the strongest scenes in biopics...its so obvious Warhol was narcissistic opportunistic snake that hade no conscience and didnt even paid his employees...he probably was drawn to the innocence of Edie because narcissists are always wired to like the innocent/ young person/originals or empaths...just to use and abuse...
@lsimon3432 жыл бұрын
People need to remember that Edie was an adult. She had a large trust fund. 2 actually that she blew thru and then blamed Warhol when she was broke. I love her but the truth is SHE squandered the opportunity she was given. She could have been a huge model or even actress and she blew it. I came from a horrible fam too but I still am successful and I went thru my trouble years but she has had it ALL and just blew it. Facts.

Sedgwick’s father was actually villain number one. He was a raging narcissist with a terrible temper, and Sedgwick feared both his touch and his wrath. On one memorable occasion, she caught him sleeping with one of his mistresses and the aftermath was so traumatizing-she never forgot it. Sedgwick’s father insisted that she had imagined the whole debacle, viciously slapped her, and then called a doctor to tranquilize her. But that wasn’t all. Later on, she confessed that, starting from the age of seven, her father had repeatedly tried to assault her. His complete control over her only continued, and he eventually had her committed to a psychiatric hospital. (Factinate)
@flywings1112 жыл бұрын
Judging from the book 'Edie' she didn't have much chance, no. She was abused, hospitalised, put on drugs even before she met Warhol. Her two brothers died of suicide which must have been absolutely awful. She was 21 then with tons of money but without any guidance, love or attention. Her family didn't care about her at all. Tragedy was waiting to happen to her.

@@TheThelenita But I have not seen any evidence anywhere that Edie Sedgwick was "sensitive" or "creative". And plenty that she was start struck and vapid.
