the dragon people strike me a bullies. While I can admire the engineer, he really should have told her that he was not there to play her petty power games, and that her people's insistence that stronger was better, just made them look primitive. The dragon lady's manner was not "teasing" it was bullying. To set tasks that she knew very well were beyond the physical ability of a human was petty and just plain nasty. Frankly, I don't know why he went along with it---he was not there to be her servant or playmate.
