6:20 You don't need to use those 2 nodes. You can just use the letterbox and set it to the same resolution as your bg and set the mode to "pan-and-scan". Letterbox is basically the resize and crop all in one node.

Good golly. The number of threads on the information superhighway where someone has no idea why Planar Transform isn't working and no one truly understands how to help them...all need to watch this. So glad I found it. Moving from AE to Fusion is hurts my head, but I think I'll stop now and watch everything you've produced : ). Thank you!

Hey Jake, awesome content. I recently discovered your channel and I am totally hooked! I’m a longtime DaVinci Resolve user and I started using Fusion for more complex projects around 6 months ago. There is still one BIG issue I haven’t been able to figure out. When working on the Edit page, to adapt one timeline to a different aspect ratio, I usually duplicate the timeline and tweak the positioning of the elements to best fit the new dimensions. I haven’t found a workaround to do something similar on Fusion and this completely destroys my workflow since I usually deliver in 16:9, 9:16, 4:5 and 1:1. Positioning and dimensions move around so much, I almost need to start over, spend way to much time changing the individual node settings on dimensions without getting ideal results, or exporting alphas, which is time consuming and you ultimately loose editing flexibility. Any advice? Is there a specific workflow you recommend? Or a node tree setup that helps moving things around from one aspect ratio to another?

@@MrPablogarciarobles hey! Thanks for the comment! It depends on the graphics but usually it's impossible to have a 1 size fits all approach so no matter what you will more than likely need to reposition stuff in Fusion. If you want to send me an email with an example of the graphics you make I could see if I have any suggestions!

I’ve been facing an issue for quite some time: when adding media directly in the Fusion page, the original speed of the clip doesn’t carry over. To fix this, I have to create a compound clip every time, which can be quite inconvenient. Is there a way to resolve this issue so the media retains its original speed without having to create a compound clip for every file? Also, how can I create a 4K compound clip efficiently?
@JakeWipp14 күн бұрын
@@mhabir240 is the video clip a different frame rate than your project?
@mhabir24013 күн бұрын
@@JakeWipp yes, because there free stock footage that i download from internet. so every stock footage or clips are in different frame rate

Hey i actually encountered a big issue for me with resolutions in fusion for example i have a grid video and it is vertical so i once changed it in the edit page to be 1920:1080 and saved it to the power bins and everytime i go to fusion it appears as vertical so if i try to add text in fusion it appears sideways in the edit page and if i try to resize the resolution once i go back to the edit page it appears zoomed in and just dosent look good and its diffrent
@Lokmansouhail15 күн бұрын
what aligning plugins do you use in fusion or the edit page?
@JakeWipp15 күн бұрын
I have a basic alignment tool that comes with any of my title packs which helps keep stuff aligned. The EditorTitles update video talks about it a bit more.
@HeIsHarsh15 күн бұрын
But this also messes things up when you're using pre-made elements in vertical timeline, especially text.
@JakeWipp15 күн бұрын
@@HeIsHarsh the method I showed messes stuff up? How so?
@HeIsHarsh14 күн бұрын
@@JakeWippNo, the fact that Fusion is resolution independent messes things up. It's fine for a horizontal timeline.
@JakeWipp14 күн бұрын
@@HeIsHarsh if you build a layout for 16:9 it probably won't look great in 9:16. But everything will technically be in the same place. But if you are working in 1080p vertical and switch to 4k vertical all of this works the same
@HeIsHarsh14 күн бұрын
@@JakeWipp and hence it's a problem & a pain in the ass. Try downloading any fusion effect/text effect from anywhere, the default is always horizontal.
@JakeWipp14 күн бұрын
@@HeIsHarsh my point is that if it was a pixel system it would be worse. The issue you are explaining is something setup either just for horizontal or incorrectly. Most of not all of the titles I make should work in 9:16 no problem because I account for this.
