Besides, he does put the effort to keep his family safe and constantly struggles with his personal demons to save people. Like he isn't a lighthearted and cheerful person, but he is a kind and good man who showcases it through his actions.

and its also stated in the harley quinn's revenge dlc and in arkham knight that since the joker died batman hasn't been the same personality wise (as we all know the joker's blood was inside of him) making questionable decisions like locking robin up along with his fear of losing him and putting weapons on the batmobile (which lucious stated he was opposed to with the previous batmobile)

For me, the Arkham Batman is one of the best depictions ever, he is a perfect balance of everything that's come before but is still very fresh and original. Everyone has their favourite take of Batman. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinions, it was great to hear them

Okay, Rocksteady should not have cut that scene where Alfred tells bruce that news reporters are at wayne manor, because one it explains why Alfred is absent for a majority of the game, and two the line about him making 500 cups of tea is funny.

I'm gonna add a bit to the point of Jason, some of the issues Atomsmith is highlighting are the result of the painfully obvious fact Jason's entire existence in the Arkham franchise was a retconned in. The literal only reference to him is some non canon dialogue in Joker's Carnvial. And before anyone tries to use that line from asylum about him needing a new sidekick, that line is too vague to definitively say that's what Joker is talking about.

The thing with the early Arkham games is that they leave things very vague which is something that Paul Dini likes to do. He likes having the players imagine what this Batman did in his 10-plus years of crime fighting. However, as more games were being made his history became more clear which can be frustrating at times.

With all due respect, this is a video game, made by people who knew what fans wanted in a video game. No Batman Arkham fan wanted to have a sit down with Tim Drake and explain the motivations for not wanting him to do this or that. No fan wanted to have a 6-hour cry fest with Harvey Dent. No one wanted to spend two-thirds of the game analyzing whether Zzazz needs a 93rd chance or not. Fans wanted to throw weapons, fight, glide around, drive the batmobile, solve mysteries, etc. When we buy a Batman game, we want to be doing common "stereotypical" Batman stuff. For every 1 issue of Batman, where he has a sit down with some villain and tries to understand them, blah blah blah, there are about 100 issues where he just kicks the daylights out of them and sends them back to prison/Arkham/whatever. Heck, if these games were made today, they'd probably follow the "Sony's Spider-man" model and have us play as a black Barbara Gordan, farting around in our wheelchair, typing memos and crap on the computers at Gotham PD. Different? Yeah, sure! Interesting? No. Fun? No. Something fans want to do in a Batman game? Hell f'ing no!!

unpopular opinion but I do feel like Arkham City is overrated because as much praise as that game gets for being considered the best Arkham game in the series and understandably so I think there's a limit because people praise the ending scene with batman and joker but I can't understand logically why batman would basically say to joker "oh yeah joker I would have still given you the cure and saved you even though you tried to po!son me and my city and k!lled my girlfriend Talia 5 minutes ago" let's be honest, nobody whether they were batman or not would do that for joker of all people, especially after all of that, which I think is fair when it comes to robin I think batman can come off rude to robin especially when robin is constantly telling batman he doesn't have to do this on his own because they're partners since Bruce went through all those months to train Tim and this isn't just any Batman character this is Robin who's Batman's number 1 partner who was the very first Bat Family member they introduced to the Arkham series aside from Catwoman who's allegiance in the lore depends on which story since sometimes she is on Batman's side while other times she's against him yet the majority of Robin's screen time are the DLCs even though we know he's in the main story while his only other screen time is either challenge maps or Arkham Origins Online, plus I think we can blame rocksteady because the bat family in the Arkham series was underutilized and was a wasted missed opportunity compared to Gotham Knights as much as y'all like to trash on that game

I think you right about saving the Joker after he did all that to Batman in a logical sense's however this is Batman and that's one of his many flaws. He believes in human life which at first is very heroic but it's also his biggest flaw. I will agree they really should have focused on the Batfamiliy because they were wasted. However, I think that would have been too much for Rocksteady to handle. You don't want to put all your eggs in a different basket and hope one of them is good. So it's smart for them just to focus on Batman to make sure he's the best playable character and to make you feel like Batman. (I can't believe I said that)

@@bluekinghtbeyond Just because you have played these Batman games doesn't mean you understand them. Batman wasn't being cold towards his allies, he was trying to protect them. Why would Batman try to endanger the lives of anymore allies when he is in a situation where two of his allies are already captured. This is one of the sub-themes of the game. Jason gets captured and tortured by Joker. Barbara gets shot by the Joker and is now in a wheelchair. Then she gets kidnapped by Arkham Knight. Catwoman gets kidnapped by the Riddler. Then Nightwing gets kidnapped by the Penguin. Gordon gets captured twice: once by Arkham Knight and anothee time by Scarecrow. Why wouldnt batman be afraid of putting their lives in danger? Batman, throughout the game, refuses help from his allies because he doesnt want them in danger. Why would he suddenly ask them for help? You fundamentally misunderstand the character of Batman if you think he wouldnt even consider the possibility of them being in danger and be legitimately spooked by what could happen to them especially in light of the events of the game.

Sure, I didn't go over Nightwing being captured but I went over Barbara, Jim, Jason, and Talai and why he doesn't want Tim's help. I'm explaining why he's so cold to him. This point is incorrect since while yes, they have horrible trauma, but they still have CHOICE over their actions and SHOULD be punished for their wrong doings you can feel bad for someone and still think their actions are messes up. Has Jay Garrick said in injustice 2 to mister Freeze: "loss is not an excuse for criminality".
