When Mike came in, he was wearing an AC/DC T shirt under his flannel shirt. When he left, he only wore the flannel shirt. In the morning, Will was wearing Mikes T Shirt. I dont know why I noticed that, but it was a really lovely piece of the story.

Really appreciate the realism in Mike's character. His honesty sold the role for me. He understood Will's mental state and did his best (given his position) to help out without getting too involved. Some people might disagree and say Mike should've done more, but you gotta remember. He's known this random stranger for all of 4-5 hours. He has his own life and struggles to get back to. He could've ignored the signs and done nothing, but he chose to help in the best way he could.

Yes, I agree with you! Mike did as much as he could for the night. The had drinks, did the sauna and then made love and slept a little bit. I like when Mike got up to cook I guess some cookies or something for a small birthday treat and give it to Will at 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning.😊 The movie is very nice!!😊 The character Mike is handsome.😊

The cookies had been hanging around in the rental - they were stale. Mike took the money - no problem. Ultimately, another day, another dollar - although he is evidently bi. Suspect Mike has come across this kind of thing before.

This was very moving. At 27 and without any human contact, Will is such a sad and depressed individual. Mike comes into his life for just one night and changes his outlook. He cared enough about him from that single interaction to guide him to another path. What a wonderful thing to do. The writing was excellent and the tenderness and understanding between them was palpable. Thank you for sharing.

Both actors did a superb job, but the way Chris Bellant’s ‘Will’ pulls you in, you just want to hug him, and let him know everything will be okay. I love the empathy Will Pullen’s ‘Mike’ has, he didn’t have to do what he did, but he did. Such an incredible film ❤ Another gem of a find.

If I can find someone else at this age, I will be happy. If I don’t, I will still be happy. Our life is about living to the fullest under any circumstances, and that does not have to be just one way. The problem about gay community in general is that it focuses so much on youth-oriented endless hedonistic life style. If you are afraid going into it, will have to evolve and find other way to connect, that is called growth and wisdom.

DAMN, Just DAMN!!! They say things, people, appear in our lives when we need them most. I’m not certain that it’s “Devine” intervention or some other power at play, what I DO know is that it’s 1:27am and I’m alone in a hotel room with my faithful Service Dog laying next to me on one side, and my 9mm S&W on the other. I have been dealing with a major medical issue since 2009. The unrelenting pain and other losses have drained me, and I can honestly say that I’m living to provide the best life possible for my Dog. We have a routine, and an undeniable bond and way to communicate. Several nights like this, I haven’t pulled the trigger because I know how terrified she is of the sound of fireworks and gunshots. The thought that I would abandon her in such a manner haunts me. THANK YOU for sharing this “Perspective” with me/us. It seems so flippant to say, “we all have something to live for, and, it will get better,” however, life experiences seem to support this.

Just less than two years after, my husband had a stroke/heart attack in front of me while we were watching TV. He was buried, I was kicked out of our house and I had to move to another country. PTSD moved in and it wasn't easy to deal with. Got over it and I am ready for new challenges. Life doesn't end when love dies.

Hope is a sentiment that inspires us to yearn for something essential. While it's simple to define, embodying it is another matter. This short film resonated deeply with me, as I live each day fueled by a hope that stirs my heart. I may not have specific expectations, but I always harbour a desire that things will unfold as they did for the guy in the film. Merely thinking about it won't summon the hope akin to love. For me, navigating life without awaiting a miracle is liberating. Meanwhile, I cherish friends who, unwittingly, become reasons to value them just as they are. My gratitude goes to Directors Notes who express such hope.

It's just a perfect film in every aspect. The story is told in such a wonderfully calm and focused manner. The dialogues are on the point and if nothing to say the little gestures and looks in the natural acting of Will Pullen and Chris Bellant making the story so credible. The message is simply life affirming and the advice Mike gives is the best you can get: Go out into the real world, a friend like Mike is waiting to be found somewhere out there. Be brave.

The acting is pitch perfect. Chris Bellant played Will, Will Pullen played Mike. " I have your number." "You don't have to pay me to come fuck you..." Guys, this friendship is not over. A couple of touches I noticed. The way Mike looks away as Will takes off his shorts to enter the hottub, so as not to allow for any embarrassment. That's a real pro. Will walks along the beach, takes a moment to pick up a shell, look at it then keeps walking, and ends picking up another one to appreciate at the very end. That small detail suggests an interest in something...
@scarpienАй бұрын
I too noticed the way they both kinda 'fell' for the other as the night progressed. Mike tried his best to keep it professional but failed, and that's a good thing in this case because he saved a life and made a new friend/fuck buddy, if I may be so bold. I just wonder how his gf will feel about the latter since he doesn't care about the pay anymore.

Powerful reminder that you could be the person who provides a good enough reason for a suicidal person to stick around and keep trying, knowing that like your unplanned interaction, more good things could be coming. I spent 30 years suffering with depression and deep suicidal ideation, and every time my end felt near, I would have a great if brief experience or exchange with some random person, or see an especially beautiful sunset, and think to myself, “I’m just not ready to let go of this place, and the idea that tomorrow could be the day that changes everything.” Smile at people, it could actually make a difference in their world.
