Yes, I do. There are other things going on as well, but the pelvis moves forward, the thigh is pulled forward, and the lower leg is pulled forward a bit, too. Average pelvis movement on the PGA Tour from P1 to P7 is in the 5" forward range.
@elitegolfschools5 ай бұрын
@@iacas exactly and at P7 we should see that because the upper system pulls on the lower system thus pulling the trail hip forward. At P5 it’s a different story… DJ has rib cage forward of pelvis at 5 👍

@@elitegolfschools So does Rory and almost every PGA Tour player (rib center ahead of pelvis center). Their axis tilt also remains close to 90° through P5. But most PGA Tour golfers "bank" the trail leg slightly… as for "pulling" that's a much larger conversation than can be had in KZbin comments.

@@iacas there are definitely bankers, not saying that it isn’t a way to play extremely high level golf. Just stating that you can also play extremely high level golf moving a different way… the conversation here is about the health consequences of each pattern. Would be nice to move in a way that will allow longevity rather than battling injury throughout a career/lifespan 🙏

Can someone explain this to me? I’m not familiar with the term banking in this context. Although my trail foot does that in my swing so I take it that’s a good thing?!
@mattdaniels64305 ай бұрын
I am also not entirely sure but I think, what is depicted in this clip is that the trail heel is lifting very early, which is usually a sign that trail hip or/and trail knee are moving towards the ball. Both would be an indicator of early extension and a sign, that your rotation isn't done correctly. As far as I know, with pros (on full shots) it is more a turn over the inside of their trail foot (rather that the heel coming off entirely).

@@mattdaniels6430 exactly - I am fighting my early extension with the feel of banking, the result is not banking the trail foot, but moving the trail knee to the ball and the trail heel comes up anyway..... Thats what I think I do, and it should solve the problem a bit. filming my swing still shows the kicking forward. The most unsolved problem for me....tried everything. I am sure there is a trigger move right before the the "down"-swing starts. It's like a ingrained reflex in the brain, hard to kill it...

@@hs291267 Yes, early extension can be a real pain in the backside. Mine got better when I asked myself to maintain a certain level of kneebend through the whole swing, even through the follow-through. Looks fairly funny when looked at but it helps. I guess, you are aware of it but many teachers say that early extension always has a reason. Be that a balance issue, that happens to start at setup or later or be that an open club face that your subconsciousness is somehow aware of or a shaft that is way too steep at the wrong point in time. My personal experience is, that EE often happens with golfers who don't turn well but expect themselves to hit it far - they recruit power from many places and often with negative consequences. Giles Gill here on youtube has a 15minute long video about like 5 reasons to early extend and how to fix it. Maybe it is worth a watch for you, it is a well done video, good explanation and not longwinded at all.
